Amazon is upping the price of Prime, increasing the annual fee of its membership from $119/year to $139/year.

The company made the announcement as part of its fourth quarter earnings report.

ETA:
Just ordered a part for a dryer. "Prime" shipping delivery date? Next Wednesday, the 9th. 7 days for me.
I am in a rural area, but not far from Birmingham

The monthly fee will go from $12.99 to $14.99. Price changes will go into effect Feb 18., and for current Prime members the price will apply after March 25 on the date of their next renewal.

What do we get for Prime these days? 2 day shipping is not happening around me anymore.

ETA: Just ordered a part for a dryer. "Prime" delivery is next Wednesday, the 9th. 7 days.
I do live in a rural area, but not far from Birmingham.

That’ll really cut into the 16 cents I saved on July 4th.

Where do you live? I live in Dallas and most stuff is delivered to me within two days, usually one.

That price is still worth it for me. I use Prime video a good bit.

Netflix just had a message when I opened it that said it was going up to $19.99 a month, I think it was like 10 or 15 prior IDR. I love how everyone is paying a shite ton in different streaming services. Can we consolidate this shite somehow.

7 days plus on my last two orders. I just chose to buy direct from a company on something yesterday because they sold their stuff cheaper as a bundle......even with the $9 shipping they charged me.

And the proliferation of Amazon warehouses has done frick all to shorten delivery times. Hell, they've become longer than they were. Careful, Amazon, you're starting to look alot like Sears these days.

Different streaming services? How about paying separately for internet access? Paying for phone and home is just stupid.

Amazon should just drop the NFL which is part of the reason for this $40 dollar increase.

Once BTR1 opens (Cortana Mall) you should expect to see one day deliveries in the Baton Rouge area. Same for shreveport and nola.

Yeah, I believe ATT has had a phone plan with home wifi for a while but I think its about he same price as having two plans. Granted many areas of La can't use the ATT wifi due to the area they live in.

It was only a matter of time that people started figuring out the score with cable cutting. The only benefit is the lack of a binding contract. Otherwise, you're almost certain to be paying nearly as much as you were for cable. They all know people will pay it, so they will keep jacking up the prices.
