Big money in Miami. Would like to see Citizen's contract.

ummm... I'm not sure. Good question.
Under LA law the player is required to disclose to the school and the school is, following that disclosure, required to give 5 hrs. of education on managing that money.
So the question is, is that information then subject to FOIA or other disclosure once given to the school.
There is no public disclosure requirement for the player directly.

Are these nil deal groups providing tax services to these kids? Hate for kids to get arrested for tax fraud right before a season. I’m sure these big ones are but these small deals are gonna get someone in trouble.

They just gave all Stewart’s money to citizen. They wanted Stewart over citizen but when that failed, went elsewhere

That’s a great question. The rules (if any) on NIL associated with college sports are definitely in flux.
There will also be sham deals, where the player is paid but no revenue is generated from NIL.
I guess we will just wait and see.

They have to be disclosed to the school for compliance purposes. I would assume the school will treat that as confidential information though, meaning no public disclosure.

B) School of Finance has traditionally done taxes for student-athletes. It is an opt-in thing, so the player has to go ask for it. They can't require it; a player can always go get their own preparer or CPA.
So between the class which will tell them they can't ignore it and the free services provided they should be covered... IF they do what they are supposed to. There's always some who don't make class, don't make workouts, etc. who will through all fault of their own will get in trouble for not doing the minimum required.
But the resources are there.

If the school “supposedly” has nothing to do with NIL deals why would they have to disclose it?

Despite the fact that the school cannot legally be a party to any NIL deals, they have to know about them. Otherwise they could wind up with NCAA sanctions if a player accepts a deal which is not protected by state law.
Also, state law requires that NIL deals be reported to the university.

What a shite show for sure, this is a damn good question. I would be happier if NIL was just a modern day SMU slush fund. Ironically, that would be more transparent than this crap we have now.

Hopefully Citizen’s family needs don’t spend it all now; before attending financial responsibilities class over the summer.

Why? Are student transcripts public record?
