Orgeron had some success, but he lacked a philosophy, Méthode and direction. Plus, Orgeron’s personal life seemed to fall apart, divorce and public cavorting, awkward behavior, behavior you’d maybe see in a rambunctious teen.
This was why Orgeron should never have been given the HC position. A full vetting would have revealed his true character. Thai is why he and Aleva chose this political route!! Aleva is fired and like Orgeron, INCOMPETENT!!!
Frank Wilson is competent and moral, leader of men!!!

We all stand on the shoulders of giants. Those who are the most successful realize that, instead of thinking that they by themselves are tall.

Frank Wilson is a good ole Nola baw. He would have been a badass recruiter with or without O but there's no doubt that he learned from Bebe.
Again- Frank is a true Nola man. That's why he has so much success there. His roots run deep in the crescent city and river parishes.
But I'm sure if you asked him- he could tell you some things he learned from O.
The old way of recruiting is dead but you could make and argument that Ed Orgeron is a top 5 recruiter in the 1950-2020 era

Name all the 15-0 national title teams ever?
Name the best WR corp in NCAA history?
Name the best QB season of all time?
Y'all are gonna let your hate for Ed destroy you're own credibility

Coach O hired Frank to his first collegiate job while they were at Ole Miss from 05-07
Makes me wonder the recruiting stories that these two have from their time at Ole Miss.
05 class: signed Michael Oher & the #1 player in state of MS, Jerrell Powe.
(also hired Oher's HS coach, Hugh Freeze)
06 class: signed #3 recruit in the nation John Jerry, #1 Juco player Brent Schaeffer, and #1 player in state of MS Allen Walker
07 class: #1 juco player & #1 player in state of MS again

I initially started looking into Frank's career because of Cortez Hankton (our new WR coach hopefully). Couldn't remember if Frank graduated from or coached at St. Aug. It's gonna be awesome to have Hankton & Wilson working together.

Nobody excels at sports solely because of someone else.
Except Scotty Pippen.

Coach O is a great recruiter but I don’t think a good evaluator outside if the DL. He stargazed a lot.
I think he’s at his best when someone else points him at a prospect and says “go get em”. Like a well trained bird dog.

I hope the RED column bottom right of your Post answered your question, is there anything else the Rant can help you with?

Meh it was expected bc of the hate for O and love for Frank, but you can't totally discredit the point I was making.
"Did Coach O help Frank Wilson become a good recruiter?" might have been less controversial/more well-received, but it's the same point.

So, then what you would be saying at the same time is...Orgeron did not develop any other coaches in the same way.
Therefore, are you saying that Frank and O had SUCH a close bond that he developed Frank in a way that he did not develop others, because I'm not aware of any others from the O coaching tree that are considered great recruiters?
And if O really was capable of developing that good of a recruiter, then why didn't he do it with others? We all know that O was a great recruiter - it was probably his biggest strength, so why aren't there more guys out there succeeding due to what O taught them?
Maybe, it's just that Frank is a great recruiter who picked-up some things from O...but not entirely due to him.
That's what I would go with.

How fricking stupid can you be. You know Frank coached under Miles? Further you actually think Frank is good because of O? Why aren't other coaches of O as good as Frank? You are just a stupid person.

Hugh Freeze?
Corey Raymond? (Recruited under Miles & Wilson first, but spent half of those years with O on staff too.)
Dennis Johnson - TBD
Steve Sarkisian?*
Lane Kiffin?*
*He was recruiting coordinator at USC while they were there together for 3 yrs (01-03). Who was the bigger recruiting influence then, Pete Carrol or Ed?

Still waiting on guys that would be considered coming from his tree...

Frank Wilson is a damn good recruiter because of Frank Wilson. He might've picked up a few things from Coach O or saw a few things that he could use to help his own style but he is not a good recruiter because of Coach O that is just a dumb thing to say at this point. That would be like saying is Lane Kiffin a good Coach because of Coach O, I mean they coached together a long time...fricking stupid

I wouldn't say that, but I would say Kiffin is a good recruiter because of Coach O...

Coach Zero deserves credit for 3 things..
1- Getting LSU to fire Les
2- Recruiting Burrow and a few others in 2017/2018
3- Destroying his career and LSU chasing strange.
