Matches Stopped for Medical Emergency in Crowd

Just happened again in the Spurs v Chelsea match, but play was stopped because of a medical situation in the crowd.
This may come off as harsh, but Leagues need to stop stopping play for medical events that happen in the crowd.
Assuming it's not a Hillsborough type of event, let the stadium's medical staff deal with it and carry on play. It's getting to be ridiculous.

If we save even one life we must shutdown the entire world, including businesses and all logistics systems.

I've always assumed it's because the medical personnel are assisting whoever is in distress, and they don't want something to happen on the field and not have them readily available on the pitch.
I can't remember which match it was, but it was recent and they mentioned they had to grab the defib for the fan that they had pitchside.

Does explosive diarrhea count as a medical emergency?

Call me crazy, but the teams' medical personnel shouldn't also be responsible for the 60,000 fans in attendance. The stadium should have their own EMTs for situations like that.

It’s not harsh
It’s true

Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like you wouldn’t see this stuff in the US
Unless it’s something like a batted ball or puck that flies into the stands

It's not something I can really remember happening before this season so not sure if there's been a rule change?

I think this is the reason. In the United States this is less of an issue because for most large sports events it’s pretty much mandated that there be an EMS crew available to assist. I don’t know what the set up is in Europe, but the only doctors may be the ones pitch side.

Hate to sound like an ugly American, but if the above is true they need to change it. Don’t stop a match or (a game in the US) because of an incident in the stands.

Was just about to add Fulham/Blackpool. This sort of thing doesn’t happen over here, or does it? I’ve seen ushers get called for drunks but never seen anything like this

For frick’s sake. They sent both teams back to the locker room.
Is there a dead body in the stands?

With attention being paid to the increase in heart issues for players and the various Covid vaccines, I wonder if there's also been am uptick in these incidents in the stands as well.

Nope, it's all just a coincidence.

Bro the chance of cardiac effects from Covid is 150x the risk compared to the vaccine. Unless you’re in healthcare (and I know you’re not) no one is forcing you to get the jab. Give it a rest.

Brits have more respect and class. It should be stopped. How can you play match, with the crowd so close, when someone is possibly dying in the stands?
