Maytag Washer with Kenmore direct drive motor
Quit spinning a few weeks ago. I replaced the clutch and the coupling. Worked fine
Stopped draining last night. Took the drain motor off, spinning fine and nothing stuck inside. Lid switch works fine. Drained when I put it back together then failed to do so the next run.
I'm told these are the best machines to have as they rarely break and are simple to fix when they do. I don't want to get a new one. What am I missing that would cause it to not continue a cycle or drain?

Could it be the control knob going bad?

I guess it could be
doesn't feel worn out at all though. I'll have to see if there is a way to trouble shoot it.

What's the model number?
Repair Clinic is my go-to for troubleshooting and finding replacement part numbers.

Took it apart last night and there is nothing in the drain pump. I'll have to check the drain hose

Make sure the hose isn't kinked either. After that, perhaps the pump is failing.
Do not buy parts through repair clinic unless you want to pay more than you have to.

Pump spins fine. There's no electrical components on it to fail. I'll double check the hose this evening.
Gotcha, I can get parts in town luckily.
thanks

How old is your machine and are you happy with it?
My lg motor just went out. It has a 10 year warranty on the motor.
Lg said they will pay for the parts but they want 125 to come out and another 125 to 200 to put it in. I might as well spend that on a new machine.

Old enough to have no warranty left. Very happy with it. Never had any issues until recently. Clutch and Coupling only cost me $50 for parts.

Replaced drain pump and checked hoses. Cleaned timer contacts and switch lid contacts. It ran fine for one cycle.
Started another load, it filled and then never ran. Changing cycle on the knob does nothing now. So it must be the timing/cycle mech or the motor. I'm leaning towards the motor since it's been an in and out issue and now seems to be dead completely

Sucks replacing something that wasn't broke but the way I look at it is you'll have a bunch of new parts that won't fail any time soon.

Yea the coupling was aging for sure. And the parts aren't that expensive. Hopefully I can find a used motor

I had mine do that on the delicate cycle, but when i ran it in the normal cycle it worked. Not sure but from that point on, delicate cycle wasnt used anymore. Different washer but just letting you know

Cycle didn't make a difference on mine. Wish that was the case
