I seriously envy people who tell me they just watched tGOAT show The Sopranos for the first time. It never tires, honestly.
Same I want that mind eraser from men in black so I can keep watching the Sopranos over and over for the first time. But it honestly gets better with every re-watch.
But I don't wanna sound like an a-hole, but I really can't be seen in a thread like this anymore.

I must have been the only one that spent seasons 4,5,and 6 wanting to know what happened to the damn Russian from the Pine Barrens episode.
What's there to know? He was an interior decorator.

I’ve been rewatching and following each episode with the corresponding podcast episode of Talking Sopranos, which breaks down episode in minute detail with Steve Schrippa and Michael Imperioli.
After listening to them and talking about the detail put into every scene and tying things and meanings together, the Sopranos may be the greatest thing put on film. Much less TV. From an artistic standpoint.

Everyone says “you’d have to watch it when it originally came out” but that’s only the case because at the time it was the greatest show of all time and since then has been surpassed by Breaking Bad, The Wire, GOT, and BCS. They think it’s about the context of the time period but they’re really just admitting that it’s nostalgia boosting their rating.
Are you standing atop of your mountain of downvotes while proclaiming this?

It's supposed to be symbolism for the attempts at Tony's life. She fails to park the first two times to the same way the first two attempts to whack tony failed.
She was successful on the third attempt...
This was also the only episode with no music in the credits. We were seeing everything from Tony's perspective. He gone.
Also, the ambiguity is gone considering David chase outwardly has stated that Tony died in the finale.
There are several good YouTube breakdown highlighting all the symbols in that last scene.
Damn. This is another great interpretation too.

Interpretation?
There is no interpretation.
Tony got whacked! It answered the repeated question for the final episode.
You don’t hear it coming.
ETA, I just finished my first watch of the entire run. The fade to black was the most incredible idea for a death scene ever. I went through withdrawals for a few days when I finally finished it. Incredible story telling.

Doing a rewatch of the series for the first time in nearly a decade. It and the Wire are the GOAT to me personally

Paulie and Patsy had Tony killed.

it was open season to blow Tony's brains out all over AJ's onion rings
I read this entire thread but this line made me
I also just finished a series re-watch for the first time since seeing it live. Enjoyed being able to piece more together than just watching what happens and trying to keep up like the first watch. The final scene has aged really well IMO after sort of being a punchline when it first aired.
If you're rooting for Tony, Phil's death would almost warrant a fist-pump with how it plays out; however, as previously mentioned it became Tony's death sentence and he wouldn't be lucky enough to have it happen in the hideout house.
If Tony's death is how the series had to end, how do you properly portray it? Chase's cinematography is as inventive as it can be without showing you the catastrophic ordeal the Soprano family would face seconds later. Especially if you didn't want the series to end, it was a tremendous way to finish the series.

Check out The Americans if you haven’t at this point. Extremely well written. Satisfying finale (maybe one of the best ones I’ve seen up there with Six Feet Under).
The end of the Americans was one of the best written series endings ever. Love it.

The Americans got a little repetitive but the last season is so good.

I'll never forget that. I was watching on DirecTV at the time and I thought I actually lost my feed.

There is a Luccessee guy who was around in the late 80s-few years back who was a captain or something and flipped a few years back I think but he does a little podcast and he's been reviewing it as he's never seen it. The channel is called "Sitdownnews."
