I'm admittedly a fan of them both but would say with love that they are kindred spirits.

Timmy B's lips have been connected to Dale's penis for many years now.

Bs. Knight threw a fit...slamming phone..and they got every call the last few minutes...every call.
Maybe one day Wade will be in a position to choke to keep him out of his third final four at LSU.

Like others have said he was the main sports guy on WAFB in BR when Dale was putting out some good teams. He used to do interviews at local HS football practices before big games on Fridays. I remember him being a big douche and nobody really respected him but he kissed Dale’s arse big time and got a lot of access to the BB team. He’s an overbearing A hole in my opinion but he is an LSU fan.

This. Brando hosted Brown’s retirement celebration at the PMAC back in 93-94(?). and did a really nice job(standing in for Vitale,) even though I think he’s a blow hard

I would say this - I'm not a fan of Timmy B. and I'm sure he could GAF if I was or not.
Similarly, I think WW could GAF what Brando says. Brando has not been relevant for a good while and even when he was he did not move the needle all that much.
Not sure Bingo Bango's issues are with WW but if they are because of the tape then well...he knows good and well Dale did that and worse in his day....he's arrogant but he ain't an idiot. So it must be more - Dale feeding him.
Mascona let's him come on and bloviate every couple of weeks and it seems to please him. And that works fine for me cause I can change the channel when he is.

Brando vs Jboy
I always thought Brando was likable enough until I watched this exchange with Jake Crain starting around 6:00 and then it got personal at 10:30. Brando was arguing Cincinatti was a great team capable of beating Alabama. His arguments were terrible, his arrogance offensive and his likability damaged at least for me.
He's got some Dick Vitale in him for sure.

Brando was a WAFB sportscaster before he went national. Assume some friendship from those days.

Timmy has a very nice broadcasting voice and clean looks. Very strong ego, which makes him self assured.
But he is not very smart and exercises poor judgment, particularly when his high self regard leads him into areas about which he knows nothing.
If you find him hard to like, just talk politics with him sometimme...

3 post seasons. His first obviously he was hamstrung by talent and still made NIT

I actually liked Brando when he was at WAFB.

Brando and Jordy Hultberg were the original Tigervision broadcast team. Tim covered LSU bball long enough to form a friendship with Dale. And I imagine listening to him speak the way we know he can, Tim probably considered Dale a kind of mentor.

I feel about the same. I like him as a broadcaster and he seems to care more about LSU than he does for other teams—like we’re clearly his favorite team, he just can’t say it out loud.
But when he’s got hot takes and he knows how to tweet them, they often don’t age well.

If you listen to his hoops play-by-play (I think he's still on the B-team for Big 12 games - may have the conference wrong) he quite often veers into the color man's territory and tries to sound smart talking "court balance" and buzz words like that - rather than stick to just calling the game as is a PBP man's role. You are correct he certainly does not lack self assuredness nor has he ever.
Often wrong but never in doubt.

He knows nothing about football, and, even worse, doesn’t know he knows nothing about football.

He has been an unlikable person for a long time. His days as the host of Conference Call proved that.

quote:Well it is actually 3 tournament games, and hey you do remember one year they didn't have a tournament right? And we had one of our better teams that year. If they leave Will alone and let him keep coaching and recruiting there is little doubt that he will eclipse all of Dale's records and then some. That said I do appreciate what Dale accomplished. I was there for all of it and realize how hard it was to develop a basketball program in Louisiana. The man had his faults but he still did a lot.
He was a huge lsu basketball fan in the day. Brown catches a lot of shite but I believe he won almost 20 NCAA trny games, 2 final four (screwed out of third against bobby knight), 3 elite eights, at least, 5 sweet 16. Wade may overtake all of that, but after what, 4 years, he has 2 trny wins himself?
