That made it so unpredictable
More than that, it allowed LSU to dictate the defensive personnel/matchups because LSU could go up-tempo without having to substitute personnel. That prevented the defense from being able to sub to any significant degree.
Clyde was the "chess piece" that created the problems. He was equally as proficient lining up at WR as he was at RB. Both Saban and Jimbo talked about this in the national championship pre-game show. The defense had to either cover him with a LB (who couldn't really cover him) or bring in an extra DB to cover him, thus weakening their run defense. Once LSU got you in the defensive personnel LSU wanted you in, they pushed the gas peddle on the tempo to keep you in that mismatch personnel.

Don't work in the NFL because most teams play man.
Don't work as well in the SEC VS other Co ference for the same reason. Play action doesn't move man to man defenders.

I think one thing is certain, myself and others were completely wrong about the level of Ensmingers involvement. Brady def brought the new ideas, but E kept the flow of the game going in the booth
E was essentially the driver's ed teacher. He let Brady take the wheel, but he was always there in the passenger's seat to provide guidance or slow down the car if it may have started to get out of control.
Peetz did not have that this season. He was basically a first time driver trying to navigate the interstate during rush hour.

quote:You had that in 2018.
You had a QB that could read and make the right decisions 95% of the time
You had a rb that could get you the tough yards and also was a threat out of the backfield, once he left you didn't have that skill set
You had three legit NFL WR's on the roster
You had a very athletic TE

Neither Peetz or Joe Brady had ever called plays or been a QB coach before. Ensminger had that experience as well.
Joe Burrow didn't need a Peetz or Brady to develop him. Nuss and Max Johnson will need a true QB coach.

Brady wants to come back. We will see what happens. I still think it’s the WF OC. Exciting times though.

To add to this, you had Jamar Chase who lined up at RB and carried a few very key carries. The point is, E called the game and Brady exploited the personnel once the game was in flow. The talent helped a ton, but as I always said, it was a total team effort that was possible because of everyone involved. Brady needs more experience to "settle" down and then he has a chance to be very good. Someone will take a chance on him and may be rewarded, but it will be a risk that may take time to pay off.

Twist it however you want.
Your shite organization has a always hurt generational talent at running back and sam darnold or cam frickin newton as a qb. Yeah he has so much to work with
Offense definitely had to be “vanilla” for cam. It has like 3 brain cells

It's very basic, which is why he struggled to have positive results

Brady needs constant adult supervision.

Here’s another perspective: the GM failed to provide him ANY weapons. No QB, no WRs, a stud RB who was hurt most of the season (and a known injury risk with very little chest having been the first big star to quit on his college team as a healthy scratch for the bowl). Not sure about the quality of their OL but what really could be expected of an OC with no weapons with which to work?

i can’t wait for the OC to be hired and it not be Brady so these pathetic threads can stop.
Kendall Briles got my vote to be the next LSU OC! Pay him more and he will help LSU once again to win a Championship!

OP writer was told to say all of this by the org covering their asses
brady called what darnold could run, he sucks
my guess is brady will end up as a WR coach somewhere and reboot his nfl career
