Plus, if we're talking out "southern history" here, then some people need to refresh a bit on their Missouri history. I mean, that keeps getting brought as if that's a deal breaker, so I think an education is in order sometime soon.
It has nothing to do with history. It has to do with current culture. Yes, parts of Missouri can be Southern. Columbia isn't one of those and the overall fan base of Mizzou is not remotely Southern.

Bring on a&m. FSU would be better than mizzou.

They are sayin A&M, Clemson, FSU and Mizzou on SC right now.

I really don't want any of those 3 teams. I'd rather have Va Tech.
Va Tech would be awesome but I don't see it happening. The reason I would prefer NC State is the SEC adds the North Carolina Market and adding Missouri adds the St. Louis market. If I had my choice I would add A&M, FSU, NC State and Missouri

eah I saw that. I wonder when word will come out on the other 3?

I'd rather have North Carolina than Clemson. Vanderbilt really stands out as the thing does not belong, even more so than before.

NC State would also be a good fit. An addition of 2 teams is all we really need. 4 is too much.

ESPN just sent alert.... A&M to join SEC, FSU, Missou, Clemson likely to follow

I just see in the next couple years we are heading to 4 Super Conferences with 16 teams each and the SEC needs to be the leader and pick the schools wisely to maximize the TV contracts to ensure the most money for each member school.

Really...it would take a lifetime to be accepted in the SEC?
For some it will. There are some people who liked the old 10 team SEC and will prefer it till they die. The same will be true with the expansion.
I have mixed feelings regarding the expansion. I understand and accept the necessity from a business perspective, but it's going to lead to a much different kind of feeling. 12 teams is actually a nice size. the conference isn't too big, so you still feel like part of overall even with the divisions. But as we add teams, the divisions are going to feel more and more like separate conferences themselves. Will this be better or worse? Got to experience it to know.

However, could we bring our 71,000 seat stadium up to date and into the future. I believe that's being talked about currently. Won't argue that.
LINK
And further that is probably tickets sold, not butts in seats. Here's a hint and your biggest rival, KU, doesn't even show up in the numbers.
Largest Crowds Since 1995 (when seating was reduced to 68,174 capacity from 75,000)
For the 2008 season official seating capacity was increased to 68,349.
For the 2009 season official seating capacity was increased to 71,004.
71,004, vs. Oklahoma, Oct. 23, 2010
71,004, vs. Texas, Oct. 24, 2009
70,049, vs. Nebraska, Oct. 6, 2007
68,349, vs. Kansas State, Nov. 8, 2008
68,349, vs. Colorado, Oct. 25, 2008
68,349, vs. Oklahoma State, Oct. 11, 2008
68,349, vs. Nebraska, Oct. 11, 2003
68,174, vs. Nebraska, Sept. 25, 1999
68,174, vs. Kansas State, Nov. 21, 1998
66,846, vs. Nebraska, Nov. 8, 1997
Beats Ole Miss and way better then Vandy or MSU but not the best.

That's why I say North Carolina would be better than Clemson. We already have the South Carolina market, but we don't have anything in the Raleigh-Durham market.

JP do you think we will stay with the division format?

Agreed but I don't see UNC leaving Duke. I could see NC State coming to the SEC and the SEC gains market share in N.C.

NC would be a prize, but if you think you could really pry them loose from the ACC where basketball and NC are royalty, and there are 3 other NC schoola as members, then you need to think again.
