We just hired a coach with a history of addiction and we’re bringing on his buddy with a history of addiction
They both also have achieved long term sobriety.
That’s more relevant and telling than a history of addiction

Our last payment due him is December 15 and then he goes on the payroll after that. Who comes out smelling like a rose in the end?

What a fricking joke! The same guy that fricked up the program was gonna come right back in and do it again! fricking sad

You think Ed O didn’t relapse after 2019? I’d bet a lot of money he did. And associating with people who have a history of use is a big risk factor for relapse

In fairness I was as confused as him Sounds like your girl fricks around
This fanbase is full of dumbass motherfrickers. No wonder so many of you still worship O
I’m fine with hiring him for DL Coach as long as he does his job and doesn’t frick up again, but he doesn’t deserve anything more than that. And 2019 is the only reason he should even get this tiny slice of forgiveness.

He was behaving recklessly with girlfriend’s kids at practice and photos of himself in bed with someone- does that sound like a sober person to you?

No, I don’t have any evidence that he relapsed. Dude, if people are gonna count out people because they have a history of addiction a lot of very successful people would have been denied their opportunities to succeed.
Imagine if the honey badger had been denied his opportunity.
You sound like you need to take your judgmental attitude down quite a few notches
People overcome addictions all the time and achieve great things.

You’re wasting your time trying to make sense. You are talking to several idiots who would love to see him become head coach here again. I have absolutely no doubt there are plenty in this fanbase who would gladly hand that fool the reigns again with a smile on their face.

Not dumb at all he’s a really good defensive line coach and a really great recruiter it makes sense!

There’s a difference between counting a person out and being aware of their past and holding them accountable so they don’t frick up again. If we hire him, the later is an absolute requirement.
Look at Sark. He’s managed to stay sober in one of the biggest pressure cooker jobs imaginable. It can be done, but an addict needs structure and accountability. That’s part of recovery and staying on the right path.

Past or no past everyone needs to be held accountable for their present actions.
