Kaptin, while the bear has saban beat in terms of SEC titles, saban has the bear beat in terms of legit national titles (4 to 1)... So he has that going for him

Saban is done at Bama. It's on cruise control now. He is a builder and will go build a bigger/ better palace in Austin. Has nothing to do with Bama or any particular school. He is a sculptor and needs a new block of stone

His reputation in the NFL is a liar and a quitter. That's tough to overcome. Couple that with his relative lack of success -
But, maybe, just maybe a desperate team (I'm thinking more like the Texans) will talk to him. Nobody will begin to offer a 9 figure deal to him for the pros - he's just so unproven at that level.
CFB, on the other hand, there's little question he is a top-tier coach in the post Bear Bryant world. His only knock right now is age (and relative untrustworthiness) - CFB wise, his "process" is proven - 3 schools, no less.

bullshite.
Pay Saban more and he better keep delivering in a harder division.
Go to Texas and they will be grateful beyond belief that he is there. He will get a pass and obliterate the big 12
2 natty' and retire in 5 years.
In Austin.
You're giving Texas fans and boosters way too much credit and ours nowhere near enough.
But that doesn't bother or surprise me.

Not saying he stays or he goes. Don't have a clue nor do I care, but to those saying Texas won't spend stupid amounts of money to keep the Aggies out of the talking heads mouths you are sorely mistaken and really don't understsnd the mentality on the 40 acres

Bama fans are legit crazy. I cereal as a motherfricker.
My old BIL was a bama fan and he was way more emotional then just about every LSU fan I have ever met.
It's weird man. Very weird.

We build our coaches up. You know, the Bear, idol worship, statues, naming your kids after them, all that stuff.

What's the reason for all this? Pretty obvious Nick wasn't too upset about this all going public. He's such a control freak, but Sexton and Terry said, screw him, we'll say what we want to.
Jimmy Sexton saying Saban would only leave for Texas
Terry trashes Alabama fans

This ain't about you, Aggie. Not even a little.

While this may be true to a degree, I do believe part of your opinion may be colored by bias. No one ever made a fortune by capriciously throwing money away by the truckload-full. While die-hard Longhorns fans, a lot of those big-money boosters are also savvy businessmen.

The reason for you trolling?
Typical bama response along with 'oh they love Tuscaloosa' 'why would he leave?'
everything Saban does is calculated, why would he let this 'out there?'

I'm not disagreeing with you, but let's look at what you're basing your opinion on:
quote:
My old BIL was a bama fan
Ok, that's one Bama fan who is legit crazy.
quote:
he was way more emotional then just about every LSU fan I have ever met.
Ok, that's a handful of LSU fans.
Now, can you tell me that there aren't any LSU fans who are as crazy as your brother-in-law?
Can you, based on knowing one Bama fan, tell me that there are no sane, normal Bama fans? (Hint: You're talking to one right now on the Internet.)

This sounds reasonable. I don't think Texas will pull the trigger on Mack unless it is close to 100% confident that they have the position filled already. They are not going to fire a successful coach and then start looking around. If they don't have assurances that the coach they have identified as their target will take the job, my guess is that Mack will be back another year. Of course, I might be overestimating the competence of the Texas administration, but I would be shocked if they did something drastic without knowing in advance how all this would play out.

Mack returning next year - 30%
Saban taking over - 50%
Someone else taking over - 20%
Based on the those numbers it looks like Saban will be named "Head Coach in Waiting" next year while Mack stays to try and break Darrel Royals record. Only logical solution.

It has nothning to do with money. he's already earned more than he will ever spend. he needs the challenge of building the longhorns into the greatest program ever. it's about the work, the journey. if you really enjoy your work and calling you understand it perfectly. it's about growth and developoment. saban must keep moving, building- the architect

The Texas offer better be more than 10 mill per year because the PTB @ Bama are prepared to play. Yeah i know, I know...Bama doesn't have as deep a pocket as Texas...spare me...but I've learned that Bama will play the game with Texas to see how deep Texas is willing go.
Posted on 12/13/13 at 3:41 pm to TigerTailsSoup
But my sources say it is about money. Specifically, 25 million in debt.. Lol
