Yeah, because I hate Texas, too. Not a Bama/Ole Miss level hate, but 1969 isn't forgotten in my family.

Bear in mind, too, that they view Bama, LSU and Ole Miss as being pretty much the exact same toothless rednecks.

Genro, Saban will never pass Bear Bryant in number of SEC Titles won. Saban has 4 (including the two at LSU). How many does the bear have? Not sure if Saban will pass Spurrier. Saban still has work to in sec to be considered GOAT

You don't really believe this do you chicken? You honestly think that if he surpassed the number of NATIONAL championships that coach Bryant did that he would still be inferior because of fricking CONFERENCE championships?

Natties are in play, they are what define a coach. Comparing conf championships and total wins are for coaches that don't have enough Natties to call into question. Nick saban certainly does.

I agree here........ There will be pressure at Texas but no BEAR SHADOW looking over your shoulder.

FIFY. I think even Bama fans could laugh at a 300lbs Saban.

We've only played them once in 50 years. Your boy, the little guy, couldn't get us past them - his even numbered years at LSU were just "meh".

Roy Williams (WR) beat us almost by himself -

Imagine this.

Texas offers 7.5

Bama counters with 8

Saban stays at bama.

What kind of pressure is he under at Alabama now? 3/4 is great. Give a 3 million raise and you better keep doing it.

He goes to Texas for 7-8 million. They will expect results no doubt, but he'll get a pass on year one, maybe even 2, especially if he makes the title (which he should).

Stoops is sabans bitch (about to be proved again)

Now, back to bama. More pressure with not just the same expectations but more like demands.

But....

Maltzan and sumlin are his kryptonite. He is going to have a hard time in the west for the foreseeable future. I think he could have a stroke.

He could take it easy in the big 12 with almost ZERO competition.

Deductive reasoning says....

Saban to Texas.

I guess it isn't always an annoying deal having the Bear's shadow over you.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Saban has already cast the Bear's shadow off in the eyes of a great many of us. The run he's had here has been sufficient that it stands on its own merits.

The pressure to win and the expectations will be absolutely no less at Texas.

I mean less in terms of football, and more as individuals. As a culture. They look down on us.

Their message board fans make the same trailer park meth jokes about LSU that they make about Alabama or Georgia or Tennessee or Florida or Auburn.

While we're all busy fighting over which fanbase has the reddest necks, they pretty much view all of us with disdain.

8 year deal from the Detroit lions at $80 million and 1% ownership from the fords. Throw in super bowl bonus

Kaptin, while the bear has saban beat in terms of SEC titles, saban has the bear beat in terms of legit national titles (4 to 1)... So he has that going for him

Saban is done at Bama. It's on cruise control now. He is a builder and will go build a bigger/ better palace in Austin. Has nothing to do with Bama or any particular school. He is a sculptor and needs a new block of stone

What Cyde said. There is no shadow at all on saban at Alabama anymore. If he stays, he will only be in the shadow of his own success because he will be expected to continue it.

bullshite.

Pay Saban more and he better keep delivering in a harder division.

Go to Texas and they will be grateful beyond belief that he is there. He will get a pass and obliterate the big 12

2 natty' and retire in 5 years.

In Austin.
