Going after Kiffin where he knew there was no shot at landing him allows him to think in his own mind that he's not really breaking a promise to hire an elite OC.
If he thinks "well I tried to keep my promise and hire Canada and then Kiffin and that didn't work, so I need to try things the way I want to do them", it's the AD's job to disabuse him of this notion.

Orgeron is definitely that stupid, desperate, and insecure in my mind. I wouldn't put anything past him at this point

After the 2013 season would have been better. Miles just ALWAYS underachieved and disappointed. His first game at TS was an indicator of things to come.

What would it take to just shitcan alleva and O now at this point?
Why waste an entire year before the inevitable?
I see no reason to drag all this out over an entire year and further drag LSU through the absolute mud and dirt.
Pull it off like a bandaid and be done with it. Ensmingers been a jam up guy. Keep him at OC then and promote Aranda. At least its a positive move forward.
I really do not want to WASTE AND ENTIRE YEAR.

Can someone shed some light on why the thought of Briles as OC was shot down so quickly?

And does Alleva think we are going to act like dumbass Tennessee fans if we hire Hugh Freeze as OC? Oh no he fricked a stripper that he called from his work phone. He also beat alabama twice. He can use my work phone for all i care. i don't understand why people give a shite what a guy does in his personal life. He's not the head coach, and you expect your head coach to watch over him if we are talking about ncaa violations or what not, something that has not been a problem at LSU.

You may overestimate the amount the BOS actuallly knows and researched this stuff. I read all the info that came out as part of the FOIA when Miles was fired and it was an act of Congress for them to even get on a conference call
