we are essentially down to riley and napier. aranda is going usc and campbell has stop fielding all calls and is out. Fickel finally gave usc a no as timing didnt work.

if we go riley, napier will be high on UF list and is already high on TCU and VT. Wouldnt be surprised that after Cristobal tell UM what he wants if they pursue Napier too.

in the end him and chadwell are in good spots.

He may be gone. IMO he’s the best option for a consistently great team and multiple National Champions.

frick no

im just a dumbass engineer that works in a plant.

just from reasing twitter and other boards and piecing together.

in the end though, Billy is the floor and everyone should honestly feel comfortable with that. he isnt going to sign anything until this job is filled.

and what i posted seems to be playing out like i said

aranda hasnt been contacted and is going USC
campbell is staying
jimbo is staying
tucker will get ext done

so its all in with Riley with Billy as the back up plan. Honestly i hate all the smoke so early around Riley but i think we have given him a stupid good offer, with obscene amount for staff and told him we are all in like bama and uga when it comes to recruting and analysts shadow staff.

from there its up to him. he says no, we turn to Napier imo.

Napier isn't taking TCU or VaTech I don't think. He would wait for something else.

TCU is a low key great job for him. They pay well, invest in the program, have an easy P5 conference, in a talent hot bed, etc.

I could see him for sure taking that job, winning 10 games a couple of times, and getting a really major job in a few years.

He would take TCU and kill it there with all the connections he has in N LA
He would beat a lot of lower tier sec schools for guys who don’t get LSU offer

That's a sneaky good job and you get to live in Fort Worth. Perfect spot assuming LSU is off the table.

It’s Baylor in a better location

I don't see Napier waiting

Losing everybody, including QB, is a step back, and the fact he didn't have a better option ready behind Lewis tells me that staying would be a mistake, given all the openings that will be available

LINK

here is one, but others also. Now all this could be because he has biggest game of the season this weekend. i dunno. but it matches up with what we heard before the search about him not leaving ISU due to not wanting to uproot his family now.

i dont think he has too. he simply says agrees in principle but doesnt sign and tells them he will after CCG. by that time he knows what LSU is doing. Florida too honestly.

I believe he has a bright future

But if you want the LSU job, you better go somewhere more logical and have success before getting there

You're just not going from ULL to LSU for so many reasons

LSU has never been on the table for Napier, you can bet on that. No way in hell does Woodward pay almost $20 million in buyouts to settle for Napier.

If Napier stayed at ULL, they'd consistently be a top 25 team. Couldn't do much better at Virginia Tech. UL is the highest ranked team in Louisiana for a reason.

a) you were not paying 20m in buyouts worrying about the next coach, period. You are doing it to rid the program of a cancer which they did and to stop having losing seasons

B) the plan all along and always will be to go big fish, i.e. riley

C) Billy wasnt on the table at first but is after he was vetted further. Aranda is the one that has not been on the table and not been contacted at all.

D) billy knows he was not even top 4 as it was and is riley, jimbo, fickel, campbell, napier

-Fickel said no thanks a while back

-jimbo gave confirmed no after he was told he was not the #1 option, hence his angry denial

-Riley has been offered and was always #1 adn we are all in

- Campbell entertained idea but is out now, or atleast has told his agent that. May change after this weeeknd though and i think he would take ou job.

- napier interviewed with TCU and will with VT but isnt taking anything until after lsu is filled. if UF opens, he will get big look there too.

- aranda is being vetted further now but looks like he is taking USC

so you are left with Riley or napier. Napier has been around the biggest programs and has worked every position from analysts to wr coach, to assitant hc, to OC to now HC.

in the end he is the floor and the fall back.

its essentially Riley or Bust
