ok I found it but you can easily read it as, there is chatter, Shea's sources didn't know about the offer and his LSU sources believe he would say. So in response to Shea asking is Aranda considering leaving LSU, they would say no.

I don't see how it's contradictory. These negotiations are done close to the chest behind the scenes so it makes sense very few people know things.

As I stated last night Dave is staying put. After I logged off I read all the comments on A@M board . All I can say is why do you guys let those asshats get you all worked up? Texasag7 comes here and trolls and you guys fall for that crap ,without even using your God given minds. Guy is biggest LSU hater on board.

TBL: I want to know what the background to this story is.... what it just TAM coming after a great DC or anything more? What did LSU do get him to stay, if anything?

The backstory is more important to me.

We need to have him as HCIW - Joe should talk to him about keeping him here no matter what... meaning he could be HC. Yeah, everyone has said he wants to be an NFL DC, but honestly, I know of no cited article, interview, etc that confirms that. I think this is just hearsay until verified. And even if those in the know can attest to Aranda's goals, I would still work to convince him to be at LSU.

Just my 2 cents, but its sound.

Tigerbaitlawyer as I stated last night , I believe you heard something about job offer. I couldn't wrap my head around it because I have very very close source on this one. Alls well that ends well.

Apparently someone talk to one of the other coaches and said that Aranda would be here this year but he felt like this would probably be his last year.. take it for what it's worth

So we made Aranda the highest paid assistant in the country but didn’t draw up a contract keeping him from coaching in the SEC West? Ol Joe cutting up again

I don’t know what to tell you, it’s cut and dried. It’s not that their info is wrong, but you have to know by now it will always be the LSU spin.

Seems to me there was an initial discussion with Aranda’s agent after Jimbo was hired, overtures made to other DCs, rejections and then TAMU returned to Aranda two days ago

Some in this thread are confusing the timeline and lumping the TAMU/Aranda talks into one big pot when it was probably two separate conversations

TAMU doesn’t make any sense for DA right now but GB certainly does, Dom Capers is 67 yrs old and GB is ready to win now

LSU must have thrown something other than money his way. Though I'm sure he also got a raise.

My opinion is Aranda is a great coordinator and we will always have to fend people off. aTm gets a great coordinator and hurts Lsu.

I think aTm was seizing upon the Canada fiasco. O can be a micromanager at times.

Like I have said before, the staff was not cohesive early on, which is self evident now. O and Aranda have a good relationship from what I understand. O cannot go back to Ole Miss managerial style.

So if they're ready to win now, they will pursue someone with NFL experience to call their defense.

You are correct. I knew the first conversation did not go anywhere. The second time did concern me because the offer was much stronger.

Tigerbait, ding ding winner winner chicken dinner. From what I have heard LSU is best place to be for him . Look at all the LSU defensive guys he has put in the NFL just from last two years. He is looking to be at the top of the mountain.

They threw bathroom sink at him for sure. WhT wouldn't they it makes them stronger and an opponent weaker . Especially one that at the moment seems to be having issues from an outsiders view.
