Emond Fielders are repeatedly described as "dark", and although RJ likely meant more Olive complected, I don't have a problem with the way they went with casting.

Yeah it is a little on the woke side but its not the end of the world.

Now, if they make the Andoran royal family dark complected, or some of the Aiel asian, or all of the Seanchan lily white, yeah that won't work.

I'm realllllllllllly glad they made the Whitecloaks multi-racial, because if they were all white guys that could bring too many KKK comparisons on screen.

It certainly could go too far but as of now i dont think it has any real impact on the story.

If it becomes overblown in ways you said or is distracting, i will be annoyed but whatever.

If they make racism a storyline i will be really bothered because that theme isnt really in there.

Given todays clinate in tv and movies, having some obvious multi racial groups will probably make it more readily accepted by more people and will also be a good way to show that this show isnt about race or dealing with that issue

SPOILERS

One thing I wonder about is if they are truly going to Tar Valon instead of Caemlyn...why would Mat leave TV? Wouldn't he stay and get healed from the dagger? That means he doesn't go to Fal Dara, and he isn't at the Eye...and his TGH/tDR story gets moved up pretty drastically.

Which honestly...wouldn't be a bad thing.

It is hyper nationalistic but not really about race.

I think it kind of blends them. The different nations were distinct in culture and appearance and he went out of his way to describe skin color, eye color, etc. I liked that he copied real cultures and incorporated them into his world. You could see it.

Spoiler Talk

It could just be something like min saying all 3 need to be together. Im curious to see if her talent will be as forward in the show as it is in the books.

I still am unsure how well supported those rumors of skipping caemlyn are. The WoT tv show discussion communtiy is pretty incestuous where everyone sort of repeats everyone elsea rumors

I saw the Whitecloaks as the crusading Catholic Church. Pretty easy comparison. But that's funny.

Once Perrin was cast as a black dude, it was literally the first thing that popped in my mind.

I guess hanging him could get dicey.

100% agree here. It might be nice once the show is out to have more fans that didn't grow up with the books, some diversity of opinion, and some more attention on the show.

Definitely it is there in the worldbuildung and segregation of nations and identifying who is who. But there isnt really conflict breaking down on purely racial linea to my recollection is all i mean.

The Seanchan are diverse racially, for sure.

I believe Tear was pretty racially diverse as well.

Spoilers:, logain's character arc is indeed disappointingly skeletal.

Not once but twice did he have overwhelming physically and emotionally wrenching experiences, gentling and then almost being turned, and his desperate but poorly explored efforts in the final books to obtain enough power to be sure nothing like that ever happened to him again, but then finally accepting his own vulnerability, and embracing the rebuilding of the black tower/male channelers into a respect-worthy institution.

Yet you could still tell he was a broken man.

A post-quel called "The Broken Man" about his early struggles after the Last Battle would be good reading

If any of you follow Narg’s Insta, he’s been posting some spoiler photos occasionally. Nothing earth shattering

He just posted some pictures from inside a Tavern set. It honestly looks amazing. Really beautiful level of detail.

So Amazon Germany released a clip of the previously released Moiraine teaser, but they had zoomed out so its an actual clip with almost her full body and you can seek a Trolloc fighting in the background. They also said "coming soon". It was quickly taken down but everyone had already seen it and analyzed it to death.

Cool Link, thank you. Why is she wearing Hillary Clinton's pants suit?

I liked that, I feel like the trolloc needed some post-production

That has been a huge controversy since that was tweeted out.

But there are pictures out there of her costume on set and it doesn't look like a pants suit. Its just framed sort of weird in the shot.

Also...apparently riding dresses for the time period equivalent in WOT (17th/18th Century Europe)...sort of look like pants suits to a certain degree.

WOT online and youtube community seems to love a good melt / controversy.
