Spoilers discussion:
It was the wise one rings in Rhuidean that showed her possible futures that led her to sacrifice herself, as she knew he couldn't kill Lanfear based on the futures she saw. She knew Rand would either die or be Lanfear's lover if she didn't intervene based on those visions.

But IMO Moiraine didn't sacrifice herself for fear of Rand being seduced by Lanfear. I don't think Rand could bring himself to kill a woman at that point, and I also think Moiraine was told she had to do that as one of her 3 answers from the doorway ter'angreal in the Stone of Tear

Show Rumors / Potential Spoilers
So Min had just started filming (she looks way more like I imagine min in this picture btw) so that leads to speculation that they are skipping Baerleon - I feel like they may do the Whitecloak mud thing in Caemlyn if they think that scene is necessary - and will meet Min in Fal Dara. This seems like it will flow better, with Min able to travel to The White tower with Egwene and Nyn, maybe have a little more interaction with Rand. Its possible that Min gets added to the group that travels to the blight / Eye of the world.
I think this also means they are filming the final episodes of season 1. Hopefully we can see a trailer or teaser soon and be on track for like a summer 2021 release

SPOILERS
Yeah I have seen this speculation and I think this is a good change and makes much more sense. Min disappears for long stretches of time and magically shows up at the WT and becomes best friends with the wonder girls. This way she has actual interaction with them. It makes sense for her to go to the White Tower with them now and bond. And to have actual time with Rand and develop a relationship.
END SPOILERS

Ton of leaks lately including a very HD shot of Rand in full costume with bow etc. looks very nice.
Amazon also just officially released/teased audio of the show on their Instagram.

Not replying to you Fun Bunch, but I just started book 5, and when is y'alls recommendation to read A New Spring "the novel"?
Also I can't wait for this series to come out, I'm only a third of the way through the books and trying to finish before the television series comes out.

I think you can read it at any point now. There aren't any major spoilers now that you know the events of the first 2ish books.
Finish 5 first and then if you want a "break" go ahead and give it a read. Its pretty short. I didn't read it until years later to be honest.
6 is my favorite book in the series actually. 4-7 are just awesome imo.
After that, I'm sorry man, 8-10 are a trudge, with 10 being just godawful. You kind of just have to make it through them, especially 10 (major events happen in 8 and 9 even if both aren't as good as the rest of the series).
The home stretch is awesome.
Agree with all of the above. A new spring is a prequel full of spoilers unless you have finished through book 3, by which time the events leading up to book 1 have been pretty well laid out.

New Spring after 5.

I finished this year and did New Spring after the regular books. Once you finish Memory of Light I was lost what to do next and it was nice to have New Sprint as a palate cleanser if you will. The slog really isn’t that bad now they their all released, I actually liked 8 and the second half of 9 was really good. 10 is not great though. I’d have been pretty pissed waiting two years for the next book only to get that.

You nailed it there - us long time fans oversell it way too much online IMO. 8 and 9 are retroactively made worse because of how bad 10 was - and waiting a year or more to read them also made it seem worse.

Eh, 8 is solid enough on it's own, just nothing much happens to move the plot. 9 is straight terrible outside of the last 150-200 pages or so though (the ending is stellar of course). If it wasn't for the ending it's almost as bad as 10. The Perrin/Faile/Elayne parts are horrid, the far madding storyline is tedious, and even the Mat parts aren't great. There is very little to recommend it outside of the ending.
