He's playing Tam Al'Thor, as confirmed by Amazon's official WOT account.

They announce one bit of official news on the first Wednesday of every month (WOTWednesday). That was November's news.

I personally love him as Tam. A lot of expectation that that role will be beefed up.

Composer for the series leaked, a guy named David Buckley. He has a fair amount of credits but nothing that really stands out to me. He did Jason Bourne, The Good Wife, theTown, etc. His work on the game Arkham Knight really stands out to me.

They also added a 3rd director, a guy named Wayne Yip, and his resume REALLY stands out to me. Misfits, Into the Badlands, Preacher, Dr. Who, Happy, Deadly Class....Really impressive resume of shows.

Other Directors besides Uta (who was signed for the initial 2 episodes) should indicate that they are shifting production to the rest of the season.

I loved Into the Badlands - they are definitely getting good directors who have a strong resume of putting out quality shows in the genre

Those seem pretty good. Thom may be a bit older than I imagined, but has the right look. I wasn't sure how they were going to do Loial, they're human-like sure, but definitely going to require some extensive CG/costuming.

I pictured Loial as like a Hagrid with elf ears...

I like the Thom and Fain castings.

The actor playing fain looks like an excellent choice. Can be made-up to look merely peculiar at first, but overwhelming potential to be transformed into a bug-eyed mouth–foaming lunatic zealot. That character presents great opportunity for a talented actor. As Kramer said of syphilis, it is the Hamlet of diseases

I'm seriously curious how they are going to do Loial. I honestly thought he would be cut.

The one that others involved through the production seem to be the most excited about is the guy playing Thom. Apparently he has some serious screen presence.

Thom is another great opportunity. Sing, dance, tumble, play instruments, transition from a gleeman fool to a master politician, all rolled into one with a tortured heart. They need to put some white hair on him though

I'm very excited about Logain, the guys face just seems built for that haughty arrogance - hopefully they follow through on making him a larger part of the series.

Always thought was an interesting storyline - guy who thought he was the chosen one, gets torn completely down, and comes back.

ETA: that alone is an awesome storyline as the main character of a fantasy trilogy / series. One of the reasons Wheel of Time is my favorite, just so many awesome storylines, some that don't even get their full justice as there are just so many

They definitely are. That guy is a working actor that has had a variety of recent credits, and Rafe has made several comments about really expanding that role.

Just finished The Great Hunt today. Great ending and I feel the wheel is really turning now. I wanted to take a break so that I didn't just steamroll through all of the series over the next 3-4 months

No, the best way to approach this series is just to go through it all at once.

There are so many characters you will forget a lot if you take a break.

Same I’m in crown of daggers now and hit a wall halfway through. Been to busy and taking a break. Have to wiki the previous chapters to make sure I didn’t forget anything when I start back.

7 is Crown of Swords
8 is Path of Daggers

You are nearing the dreaded slog. I do apologize for this part of the series. 8-10 can be tough at times, with 10 being...slow.

Just power through and the payoff is worth it.

Fairly interesting casting news today.

They announced the casting of Alanna Mosvani and her two warders. This would point to a drastically increased role for her, and would confirm speculation that they are consolidating a lot of the Aes Sedai into just a few that play bigger roles.

Personally I think that's smart and an improvement

I like it for the books, helps give the impression of the Aes Sedai being a big body with a lot of nuance, different goals, etc.

Very smart for the tv adaption.

*** SPOILERS BELOW ****

however, Alanna really is a huge part of the story though - her forced bonding on Rand plays a big role in his attitude towards Aes Sedai - internal battle with Lew Therin (really curious how this will end up playing out on down the line) and eventually coming around, supporting rand and being with the sisters who are loyal to Rand moreso than the tower.

Spoilers:

My guess is they will make Alanna a big part of the Logain story line early on, as Logain has an expanded role as well. They will then shift her to focusing on Rand.

Also they changed the name of her Warder Owein to a different name.

Speculation is to avoid confusion with Thom's nephew Owyn, making that an on screen occurence.

Would be kind of weird because its supposed to be the Reds that handle Logain and all - thus leading into the whole Logain resurgence story-line with the rebels
