I'm halfway through Words of Radiance on my reread and will finish it before starting Rhythm of War.

Anybody else reading Dawnshard before Rhythm of War?

I am gonna have to do some serious spoiler avoidance - I'm waiting for Book 5 release date to get close before doing a full read through and hitting RoW for the first time.

Luckily Sanderson is a fricking psychopath and that will probably be in like a year.

Saw this from o e of Sanderson updates a while back, just FYI if you like wax and Wayne reading book 4 might spoil some of stormlight 4

Stormlight Archive Book 5 For 2023

With Stormlight Four nearing its wrap-up point wrapped up, Sanderson notes that “we’ll have only one more book in the first Stormlight sequence.” But it’s going to be a while before readers get Book Five in their hands. The author said he plans to begin writing Stormlight volume 5 in 2022 for a 2023 release, noting that “a three-year gap is best for my writing psychology.”

Mistborn: Wax and Wayne Book 4 is “Imperative” to Stormlight Book 5

The concluding volume to the “Wax and Wayne” Mistborn series has to come before Stormlight Archive Book 5. In this year’s update, Sanderson described this book as “imperative to finish before I start Stormlight Five.” This could imply that there’s a plot point in Wax and Wayne Book Four that will enrich Stormlight Five. Or Sanderson could simply not want Mistborn to law dormant for another few years. Either way, the update mentions that this will be his next project after Stormlight Archive Book Four, with a hoped-for 2021 release.

I love Wax and Wayne, but i really don't worry about spoilers that much.

I couldn't sleep last night so started reading right after midnight and am currently on chapter 8. Unfortunately, a fair amount of Shallan early on. While she still sucks she's not as bad as the past few books. The other chapters have been highly enjoyable.

I might have to go pick this up after work. Forgot to do it yesterday.

Though, I am debating putting it off until getting around to "Dawnshard" and/or completing a re-read of the first three.

I think this is overplayed since book 3. Shes growing. Particularly with Kalladin's Neverending "whoa is me!" routine. All the radiants seem to have their own personal demons, which I think fighting through that and gaining redemption is Sanderson's point. That said, Kalladins first scene with the traitor was cringworthy to me.

Kal will be played by Joey Lawrence in the film adaptation.

Woefully bad mistake, Mr. Hater.

i’m on ch.14 and my god i’m sick of Shallan and her multiple personalities. I’m already sick of the Radiant, Vale, and Shallan comparisons. There is still a long way to go, so hopefully she can get her shite together, or i hope she gets eaten by a chazmfiend.

I've started rhythm of war. No Dawnshard audiobook so I'll probably just wait until that.

Looks I will be continuing my absenting from this series 100 pages into Oathbringer. Shallan is THE WORST. I don’t get it. Sanderson did so well with Vin to have such an annoyingly shitty new female POV.

Any spoiler free updates?

I decided to go with the Rage of Dragons sequel first so I have not dived in yet

Agree, but is in the first 5-10% of the book. Plus the different angles have alluded to things becoming more smooth between the three in the time frame.

I do think that Shallan was just broke as a young child and her three personalities are just what every day people with a normal life would do interacting with folks in different parts of her life. Although I will give she seems to distinguish explicit qualities to each.

Edit: plus those Alethi baws don’t seem to know how to handle mental struggles (ptsd, battle stress, childhood trauma, etc)
