Urban Meyer Gives His Assessment Of Tim Tebow’s Performance So Far
© Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
On Thursday, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer was asked how Tim Tebow's been working out so far...
quote:

“I wouldn’t say weird. Awkward, maybe, the first practice, but it’s one of 90 trying to make the team,” Meyer said, via Pro Football Talk. “He has improved, it’s all new for him. Tyler Bowen is doing a good job with our tight ends as a whole. [James] O’Shaughnessy and [Ben] Ellefson in particular, if you watch a video last year and watch practice now, it’s night and day. Those guys have really improved and the position is trending upward. They’re doing a nice job.”

It's gonna be "awkward" because the guy has never played TE. He's been an "awkward" running, passing QB most of his career. Now he has to learn a new position that he's never played, he should have done this long ago in the NFL. Start trying to learn to play TE right after failing as an NFL QB, he would have been cut a few times I'm sure. But he would have gotten better and better at the position til he mastered it, and who knows where his career could be today. One thing about that guy is he's always had a lot of drive-in him, tremendous effort he always gives.

Is Tim eligible for the practice squad?

Sounds like practice squad to me

Would Tim accept just making the practice squad or is this the 53 man roster or nothing. If they just wanted Tim to be part of the organization then the practice roster would get that done.

He played minor league baseball, so had to suck it up for years. If he sees the potential of putting time in and earning his spot, you know he will.

Not sure how that works because he is is veteran. There are rules pertaining to practice squads/ veterans, etc I think if they would ever call him up, he has to stay on active roster all year
