Titans' Ken Whisenhunt Comments On Zach Mettenberger’s Selfies.
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU Tiger and Titans rookie QB Zach Mettenberger took a few selfies last week after getting his haircut and was mocked about it by Texans J.J. Watt after recording a sack on Sunday. On Monday, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt commented on Mettenberger and his selfies. Per the Tennesseean...
quote:

“I’m old school,” “That’s a pretty safe bet, that I have never taken a selfie.”

“The one thing we have had discussions about is the understanding if you are the starting quarterback, there will be people … that see you and you have to represent yourself and the organization the right way.

“It is important you are viewed the right way when you are a quarterback. Once you have won a lot of games, once you have had success, I think you can do about whatever you want. But that is not the case. So I think it is important to start on the right foot that way.”

Why should I be concerned about this?

I agree with Whisenhunt. Look, I like Mett and hope he has a long NFL career, but he needs to act like an NFL QB. Taking selfies (which is for teenage girls) is something he doesn't need to be doing.

Whisenhunt needs to worry about real team problems rather than some BS about a selfie.

"Once you have won a lot of games, once you have had success"

That can't happen with an O-line that shoots themselves in the foot every other play.

Corch Ken, if you're worried about selfies I WOULD NOT take Mettenburglar to Hooters. Don't ask, just trust me.

Fight pit bulls, beat your wife, but for god's sake don't take a selfie.

I actually agree w/ Whisenhunt, as well. Having said that, Mett is still very young; given a little time, I'm confident he'll grow into the type of mature QB that an NFL franchise wants to be the "face" of their team. He was well-respected and a good leader at LSU; he'll grow into the same position in the pro's.

"Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You'll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy, you'll be classy. If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back and the press'll think you're colorful. Until you win 20 in the show, however, it means you are a slob. " - C. Davis

I agree with Whisenhunt as well. I felt the same way when he was at LSU and he was growing goofy looking facial hair. When you are the QB you have to be the leader and gain respect from your teammates. Nobody looks up to a dude who resembles a child molester.

What an ass. Watt is on that stupid school dance commercial dancing like a sissy. Worse imo, even though he is paid to do it. Difference is, qb throws a td, he doesn't call Watt out in the presser for not getting to him.

So a NFL QB is not allowed to take pictures of himself. I see the logic in that. SMH.
