Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has announced that rookie Russell Wilson will be the team's starting quarterback, over former former Tiger Matt Flynn, in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Carroll said...
quote:

"Russell Wilson will start against the Raiders (in the preseason finale) and will start the first week of the regular season," "He is so prepared, he does not seem like a first-year quarterback."
Flynn, who signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract in March, is expected to be the No. 2 quarterback.

Classic Pete Carroll. Dude is completely overrated. Yada yada yada, the players love him so much. Without a doubt, he's certainly charismatic, but let's wait and see what happens. I have a feeling Wilson gets leveled trying to scramble when he faces some real defensive schemes, and the song won't play the same 4 or 5 weeks into the season. That having been said the opposite is also a possibility. Russell may put up better numbers than all of the other rookie starters. My gut tells me Flynn will get his shot, however.

Too many Matt Flynn sunshine pumpers in here. Matt won't get the 19.5 million like some think. He will get half of that after he gets cut this year. Seattle was desperate for a QB and saw some flashes from Matt last year and took a chance.

poor Matt! I thought after biding his time this was finally going to be it for him! But I guess I don't really feel too sorry for him he's making some big money to sit on the bench. I was just hoping that an LSU qb would make it big.
