46 years for a DUI manslaughter case is ridiculous. I get that someone died (and it's tragic), but we (society) would be better served by punishing and rehabilitating the individual so that he can be a productive member post-release. Sentences of that nature should be limited to hardened criminals.

The DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm was because Ruggs’ girlfriend was hurt and has nothing to do with the death involved.

The gun charge is redundant, as well. Prosecutor just piling on.
