Henry Ruggs DUI Crash Video Shows Him Swearing, Sobbing At Scene
© Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
Video has surfaced moments after the Henry Ruggs DUI crash that left another driver dead. The Raiders star sits on the sidewalk sobbing and swearing just feet away from the Toyota engulfed in flames, which killed a woman and her dog after he slammed his Corvette into the back of it at around 3:40 AM in Las Vegas. While the situation is terrible. I have to ask about the vehicle he struck. It was a toyota rav4 hybrid. You can see the lithium cells popping off in the video from the crash. As everyone knows the batteries in these electric cars and hybrids can ignite and cause very intense fireballs in a short amount of time. This does not discount what Ruggs did or his involvement what so ever. You do have to wonder if the design of that vehicle and the cells might have contributed to the accident in a way that made it impossible to save the person due to the intense blaze from the cells.

Guy drives 160mph drunk. Slams into the back of another car killing a woman and her dog. And you're talking about the design of a battery? WTF?

This situation is terrible all around. Stupid choices made by Ruggs have now ruined his life as well as the woman he killed and their family. I have no sympathy for Ruggs or anyone else that has such little value for the lives of others. He should do 20 years minimum.

Sad but 100% true. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about the grief that girls family is experiencing. She probably never even understood what was happening to her.

Terrible for the victims. Nothing good happens after midnight. Stay home. Too many drunks out driving.

You think he is crying because he just murdered someone or is he crying because he just lost all that money hmm I wonder

Probably a bit of both; he knew everything just went pear-shaped in the worst possible way.

Interesting how nobody lifted a goddamned finger to see whether the person in the car was still alive. What a degenerate excuse for a society.

Actually there were several people that tried to get her out, only to be unable to and be forced to listen to her screams for help as she burned alive.

She’s yelling he’s unconscious but he's talking and crying. Nothing about the person he killed being burned alive in front of them. Selfish bitch.

Really disgusting behavior. She’s about to lose everything though. No second contract either, permanently.

...but that’s Henry Ruggs right there - he plays for the Raiders!

I don't think he deserves 46 years or that. I see people get less than 10 for that all the time.
user avatar

There is no question he deserves it and more, despite what others are getting. And they deserve it and more if their offenses are of the same caliber.

The combination of charges will add up but I agree I doubt he'll do more than 10.

Drunk driving, doing 150 mph, carrying a loaded gun, in a wreck that killed someone. Doing any one of these things seperately would carry a stiff stay in jail. He will be gone a long time. We've seen the last of him on a football field.

carrying a loaded gun isnt a crime - As long as you are legally permitted to possess a firearm, you may carry a loaded handgun in your car in Nevada
user avatar

it is however a crime to possess a loaded handgun while intoxicated
user avatar

It is a misdemeanor crime in Nevada to carry a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. So while that is the least of Rugg's problems, the loaded gun will be a legal problem. Of course, I'm sure it's his girlfriend's gun, now...

Hit the woman's car at 125 MPH--after slowing down from 150 MPH. This guy deserves a lot of jail time, and worse.
