Former NFL Teammate Of Tim Tebow: ‘I Would Throw Him Around At Tight End’........
Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports
Tim Tebow isn't getting the warmest welcome back to the NFL. One person with a funny take on it is Rob Ninkovich, who last played with the New England Patriots in 2016...
quote:

“Honestly, I look at this: if you threw a helmet and shoulder pads on me, and I haven’t played in four years, I would be able to throw around Tim Tebow as a tight end,” Ninkovich said, after being asked if he thought Tim Tebow could make the 53-man roster. “Listen, listen, you can’t just go from quarterback to a tight end. You can’t do it."

“There’s guys on rosters, and this is one of the issues that I have with the whole thing. There’s some kid that’s coming out of college that wants an opportunity and wants just to have that roster spot to go out and have the opportunity to possibly make a team. Tim Tebow has had that opportunity in the NFL. He’s had his opportunity in the NFL. He was a quarterback — it didn’t last very long. Then he wanted to go play baseball — OK. Go play baseball. It didn’t work out in baseball.

“So now his relationship with Urban Meyer gives him another chance to go play football. But it’s not like that in football, and this is one reason I love football and I fell in love with the game, you can’t hide. You can’t hide in football. You can’t go out in left field and just go somewhere. When you’re on that field and you put pads on, you’re exposed. That’s why I love the game. When you put pads on and someone’s talking, you say ‘Alright, let’s put pads on. Let’s see who’s the tougher guy.’ You can see the people who can play. You can see it with your eyes. The film doesn’t lie. The eye in the sky — you should say ‘the eye in the sky don’t lie.’ Because once that film is on, you’re going to be exposed.”
Here was Marcus Spears response to Tebow's return...

These are the same people that want Kap to be handed a starting QB job because he's half black with a Jew fro

It all comes down to race, like everything else now. Tebow is white and that’s their issue.

I’m not a Tebow fan but it’s laughable that the Jaguars players are mad a Tebow for getting a spot. What have the current players ever won? Jackshit. They don’t earn their paychecks but want to complaining that Tebow gets a chance to play? At least he was a winner at Florida and Denver when given a shot.

Marcus Spears is an idiot. It’s not anyone else’s business what Tebow does. Make your own paycheck and stfu. If you think you’re better than Tebow then all you have to do is prove it. Tebow isn’t starting ahead of someone better than he is. That doesn’t happen in the NFL.

Jordan Reed was a QB at Florida before playing TE in the NFL. It’s not unprecedented.

Considering the many hardships and setbacks that Ninkovich had to overcome it’s kinda garbage for him to shite on Tebow’s chances.

But guys go from Power Forward in College to TE all of the time. Hmmmm

calm your tits people. Tebow isnt making the team. they said the same thing about him taking up a spot on the Mets MLB team. He has the tools to get a shot. Nothing wrong with that.

Urban is going to use him in the style of an H Back. If this guys knows football like he thinks he does, why doesn't he know that ? It's not like Urban is going to line him up outside the RT and run the B gap... c'mon man.

This bullshite gets me hoping for a great season from Tebow. Too bad these frickers never go back on TV when it's time to eat crow.

Tebow is going to be close to Ninkovich's size and guarantee he'll lift as much as Ninkovich did. I doubt he'd "throw Tebow around".

Agree, Tebow is a beast and will hold his own with anyone. Until I saw Burrow, Tebow was the best football player I had ever seen.

These are the same people who were telling Tim to play a different position if we wanted to play in the NFL. Just admit it, they’re all butt hurt because Kap isn’t being begged to play. Dude opted out of his contract and found that no one wanted him because he sucked.

Tebow lit it up though right?

Neal5335, big difference. Kap didn’t sign bc he didn’t want to be a backup. Tebow switched positions altogether to get back in the league.

My buddy used to smash Ninkovich's now wife's tight end in high school. :CSB:

I don’t like Tebow or even care if he makes the team, but to act like he doesn’t know how tough things are in the NFL or football in general is a bit much. He’s an athlete, he seems like he could be fairly strong and he was a running QB who took his share of hits. If he makes the team, I would imagine he did pretty good in practice and preseason. If there were some guys out there that deserved his spot, they would’ve been drafted or signed as one of the many free agents each team signed. It’s no like he was drafted and automatically made a starter like some of the early round guys are at times. I’m almost positive there was some PR reasons for this, but if it works, they look like the smartest people in football. I just want him to make it so I can hear the excuses people come up with instead of admitting they were wrong.

IF you "can't hide" and there's a kid that deserves that spot then they'll get the opportunity to prove that in camp & preseason right? I doubt they gave him a huge contract, so no reason anybody or player should be butt hurt

Sounds like a lot of whiney azz butthurt . . . He either will or won't make it. But the guys who run that organization are in business. Whether they think Tebow helps them win games or whether they think it will sell tickets/jerseys - they wouldn't do it if it didn't make them MONEY. Don't they all say it's a "business" and they make "business-decisions"?

“Listen, listen, you can’t just go from quarterback to a tight end. You can’t do it." - Logan Thomas

Logan Thomas didn't sit out for years and then decide to attempt a comeback moving from college QB to TE. Huge difference. I don't recall TT being the most fluid runner, in-line blocker maybe. No one but Meyer would be trying this, probably as a PR stunt.
