Deion Sanders shared his two cents on the NFL QB GOAT this week and revealed who his pick is for the greatest of all time. It comes down to Tom Brady and Joe Montana...
quote:

He told NBC Sports' Peter King that Brady's "will," "fire," and "passion" set him apart from everyone else. Of course, the seven rings also help.

"I’ve never heard anybody, a player, say anything negative about how he attacked the game," Sanders said of Brady. "He’s a winner. He’s a darn winner. Once upon a time for me, it was Montana. It was Joe. Shoot, it was Joe. But Brady with the Super Bowl wins eclipsed that."

So according to this logic Charles Haley is the greatest defensive back of all time because he has just as many superbowls as Brady.

Brady is the GOAT. Have to wonder where Steve Young would be if he didn’t ride the pine, waiting in the wings. He was the 80-90s version of Mahomes.

What i liked best about Young was how tough he was. He was not afraid to sacrifice his body to make the play. He was a great qb to watch. Just sucked I had to watch him beat is all the time.

Its just so hard to compare QBs from different eras. Game has changed in so many different ways. From just the style of offense all the way to the protection today for the QBs. Its not wrong, its just different and so the QB results are different. Key word today. Different.

IMO, you can't compare any QB pre 2005 to today's QBs due to the rules. Many of those earlier guys were getting driven into the turf every time they dropped back.

And WR's aren't allowed to be touched anymore... I have to wonder how many more yds/TD's those guys would have in today's game if their WR's were allowed to run free all over the field.
