The NFL announced Wednesday that New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton will be suspended for one season without pay for his involvement in the team's bounty program. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has been suspended for eight games. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely. They also forfeit their 2nd round draft picks in 2012 and 2013 season. And fined $500,000.

That's a pretty heavy punishment. What do you think?

Personally, I think the punishment is justified. Roger Goodell doesn't mess around with injuries, and he's shown as much since being the commish. However, I do think the punishment would've been less severe had they not flat out lied to the NFL office about the actually bounties. I'm curious as to which players will be suspended. You have to think Jonathan Vilma will be a definite choice.
