Six months after verbally committing to Florida Atlantic, class of 2015 four-star RB recruit, Jordan Scarlett, decommitted. Why?
quote:

“I felt like FAU wasn’t the best decision for me academically and out on the football field,” Scarlett told the Florida Sun-Sentinel. “At my position, you need your body and at FAU, I would need to carry the team and I’m trying to get my body ready for the NFL.”

Well he isn't lying. He would have to take 300+ carries a year. If he wants to keep rested and go to the NFL, there are much better offers. I still have no idea why he picked FAU though.

This is actually pretty smart and fairly forward thinking.

^^He picked FAU because his high school coach took a job on the FAU staff

With this commitment to himself I think forgoing college and playing pro ball is what he needs. Unless of course he cannot pick his team so he will not have to carry the team at that level too.

......and what are the academic reasons? You know, since he said there were academic reasons. Curious to hear those.
