Stanford is being a little sneaky about their 'Free Trial' of football season tickets. It's one of those deals where you sign up and they hope you forget to cancel, because otherwise, you got yourself season tickets next year...

With NIL I think you will see many schools drop football. It is a massive cost anyway. Many schools dropped it before NIL like Santa Clara, the Jacksonville Dolphins, UC Riverside, Portland, Xavier. Some of these schools were powers in their conferences. Cal, Wazzu and Stanford have to be incurring massive debt and their alumni base just aren't football people. I look for them to be gone within a couple years as not only NIL but the Pac12 starting to dissolve will help make their decisions. I could see teams like Charlotte, UAB, UTEP also dropping it as they average around 15K fans a game. When you are having to give away tickets and trying to fund an FBS program, the math doesn't add up. Everybody said, oh, the BOT at Bama just wanted to shut down UAB. Yea, when Tuscaloosa is subsidizing 20 mill a year its a problem. These schools could also drop into a smaller division and maybe save football.

Anyone outside of the power 5 is gonna feel the pain and that's a shame. I wonder how much the networks pay the non-power 5 conferences?

Ragin Cajuns play Thursday night! I remember when that stadium was almost packed back in the day. We used to sneak in and sell cokes there to make a few extra bucks.

I recall the keyboard geniuses saying that schools like Stanford would own football with NIL, because they are sooooo rich. Mmmmm hmmm.
