Paul Finebaum Says 1 Major College Football Coach Has Lost ‘All Credibility’
© Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports
Florida State has is now 0-3 on the season after Saturday’s loss to Wake Forest. Which makes his seat hotter than ever. ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum went off on Norvell and the Seminoles while on ESPN’s College Football podcast...
quote:

“I swear, I feel like I’m watching the Willie Taggart movie, Part 2,” Finebaum said, per 247Sports. “I didn’t think, and I don’t think anyone thought we would. Because Mike Norvell has a really good reputation, Taggart did too. I thought he was pretty close to getting this program back, but when you start off like this, there’s nowhere to go. You’re a laughingstock, you’re a joke. That doesn’t only affect you on the field; that affects you in recruiting.

“The Florida State Seminoles, one of the greatest brands in modern college football history, has lost at home to Jacksonville State and beaten soundly on the road to Wake Forest. Yes, you heard me. I’m not making something up to see if I can get a reaction out of you. There is no explanation and that’s why Norvell’s lost all credibility. I don’t care what you were. I care what you are.”

When you keep switching head coaches every 2 or 3 years this is what you get.

I think he is doing great! Give him a chance for a couple dozen years or so before you pass judgment. #KeepMikeNorvell #BestEverAtFSU #AllIn

Norvell is not the problem.

When two successive coaches are shitting the bed, the problem lies beyond. There was a reason Fisher left his job there to go to TAMU and money was not the prime motivator

What is? No troll. Is it the culture, what? I thought with Norvell FSI would at least be an above .500 team.

Taggart got the job because of one thing. It wasn't from winning games.

A-TOWNUAFAN - He got the job because he was supposedly a a good coach with a solid reputation. But, oh you talking about the Black thing! Lol

Looking over Norvell's history, he has won at other places. This speaks more to FSU's leadership than anything. I was willing to believe Willie Taggert was pretty bad but now you're going to have to give Norvell more time to get things in order. Seems more like an FSU problem than a Norvell one.

They played with heart and fire vs Notre Dame. After they loss, team has kind of quit.

Well, when Taggart left you nothing recruiting wise and Norvell himself hasn't been able to do much recruiting wise. Well, you can expect to see a once great program nose-dive like this. Norvell, I think had a 7th rated recruiting class in the ACC, not the country, but the ACC. SMH

Norvell really needs a lot more time to turn around that program, but he won't get it of course with the impatient people of today.

Maybe that former mayor of Tallahassee can help get things turned around.
