Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis confirmed Wednesday night that coach Mark Dantonio has agreed to a new contract.

The deal will make him one of the three highest-paid coaches in the Big Ten and place his assistants among the three highest-paid staffs in the conference, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

Dantonio's salary had been in the bottom third of the conference.


No. 4 Michigan State beat No. 5 Stanford 24-20 in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day. Dantonio is 64-29 with Michigan State in seven seasons.
