Scout.com was first among several media outlets to report that Durkin would be joining Jim Harbaugh's new staff.

The university has yet to confirm Durkin's hire.

Durkin comes to Michigan after serving a short stint as Florida's interim head coach this bowl season. He led the Gators to a 28-20 win in the Birmingham Bowl on Saturday. He reportedly passed on other job offers in December while waiting to see what would happen at Michigan.
Durkin was apart of Harbaugh staff at Stanford from 2007–2009.
