It was revealed on Sunday that Notre Dame was left out of this year's College Playoff. The team will skip a bowl game after the 2025 season, citing disappointment. Now their 2026 schedule has gone viral due to its weakness, with only three road games and few tough opponents...

They have avoided being in a conference and it finally but them in the arse.

Notre Dame has always done this but in the old days ND always got the benefit of the doubt. That's over now that the media voting is equal across the country. Hell, in 1975 not only would ND have gotten in this year but they would have been a top 4 seed and all ND fans know it's true.

Sort of like Alabama always seems to squeeze in because this sh!t is rigged?
user avatar
Alabama did not squeeze in last year. They were ranked 11 and did not make the playoffs.

And you think the national media thinks if Alabama in positive terms? Laughable. Notre Dame has always had the media to carry their water.

Mark Stoops would still be coach at UK with that schedule.

Is that supposed "ND only" rule true that's supposed to start next year?. I heard some ND guys talking about it, after whining, that if ND is in the top 12 at the end of the season, they get an auto-bid. What kind of janky arse shite is that?

Yes, it’s real. Supposedly all of college football agreed to it. I don’t buy it.

Arkansas would be in the Poptarts bowl with that schedule.

Wouldn’t go that far. They lost to Memphis and Mississippi State. Luckily for the hogs they didn’t play North Texas or Western Kentucky.

Notre Dame upset with the snub and mad at the ACC. They should come to the SEC and see how many games they win. Notre Dame hasn't been relevant since the 80s.

SEC had five teams with two or fewer losses in the regular season. Given that we are so top heavy and there are so many teams that you only play one or two top level SEC teams it is easier to win 10 games in the SEC than it has been in the last 30 years. Even A&M, Vandy and Ole Miss can win 10 games in our conference now due to diluting the conference.

They used to at least play Michigan and (when they were relevant) USC. Add in Michigan State, Miami, etc. and it was at least a decent schedule. And they’d win a few of them. Now this year they had two real opponents and lost to both of them. Next year is even worse.

They still play those teams (except Michigan). They play Miami, USC and Michigan State next year.

Article is misleading. Wisconsin is a road game and USC will also be a road game when they figure out the date (USC’s the one that has issues finding a date).

Aww, man. I was looking forward to a renewal of their bitter rivalry with the Directional School State Fightin' Rentawins.

One good thing about the trash playoff is maybe it kills off about 25 of these worthless bowls.

Notre Dame did beat Georgia less than a year ago. And I don't believe it was a particularly close game.
user avatar
Do they have the exact same teams this year?

Arkansas beat Oklahoma in 1978 and it wasn't close. So what does that have to do with this?

** UGA playing their backup QB who was making his first career start.

Why does last year matter?
