Protest, protest, protest. That is the answer for everything these days.

Exactly, let's just protest and boycott being a spectator and see what type of education these players get. Always wanting more and more. I say; play in college, show good character and the reward will come.

Easy to say when you've made your money. Would have liked to see him do this when he was 19

If the players do boycott the Universities should just pull every single one of their scholarships and tell them to go home. Tell them they are done and don't even try to come back. Then bring in new players who want to play.

Wonder how much Jalen got to go to Michigan?

If the scholarship players boycotted, it would make for the best tournament ever. Schools would have open tryouts and field the 5 best players. Schools that normally have no chance of winning a championship like Southern or Akron or whatever could win it all. New heroes would emerge. The level of play would not be as good but the level of competition would be off the charts. I’d fill out a bracket or five.

frick him. That will look amazing to a GM thinking about taking a risk on a player in the 2nd round

Ignorant. Why is the NCAA all of a sudden an issue? It’s not like the rules have changed much in the last 30 years.

LOL Jalen Rose making comments about Div 1 basketball players being paid! Wow. How much did booster Ed Martin pay you during the Fab Five years, Jalen? Hypocrite.

The one and done rule is the nba’s rule not the NCAA’s

The NCAA could force kids into a longer contract. They choose not to do that.

once again, would he sit for both Michigans final four appearances when he played...highly doubt it

The main tactic here is to make EVERYTHING you say absurd. That way, it all seems normal. Be consistently stupid and you're good to go.

Jalen Rose and Fab Five. "We worked 100 years to do it the right way, but then you bring the "Fab Five" in and it ruins everything," Canham said. LINK

He had me until he started with the racial overtones, and minimizing the student debt a normal student incurs. I will agree with him on one thing. Not all student athletes are the same. If they are selling 1000s of your jerseys in a student bookstore, you should be getting a cut. It isn’t fair to exploit the kid.

I get so agitated when I hear about crap like this. Maybe they should boycott... maybe they should quit, go on strike, whatever the hell you want to call it. At that point there would be walk-ons, other players that would play. People enjoy March madness not only because of the level of play but because of the competition and tradition. March madness would still be great if they outfitted a bunch of white kids in short shorts and ran them out there. It's about the competition and schools involved. Sports would not cease to exist without black people... sorry Jalen.

They are always wanting something for free or hold someone else accountable for their failures. The ones on scholarships are receiving a wonderful gift, an expensive gift. Yet that isnt enough, most poor kids can only dream of going to college, they work three or four jobs and still cant afford to complete their schooling. Them saying they are not receiving enough is incredibly moronic and without logic. Most that play in college wont play in the NBA, so the fact that they get a free education with all the perks is a priceless gift for bouncing a ball.

Plus that will be like factory workers at Apple walking out because they arent making millions but Apple is. You agreed to work/play in exchange for free tuition and room and board, it doesnt make any difference how much money the company makes. It would be the same as me walking out of my job because they make millions while i just have my middle class salary...like most things Jalen Rose and other morons say it is without logic.

Or maybe they should all call time out when they don't have any left.

These kids are offered a lot for playing basketball. They have received their books, tuition, tutors, training, and room and board, contingent on them playing basketball. They will owe a bunch of money if they don't hold up their end of the contract.

Dude, how much is a college tuition and books worth to someone that isn’t college material? It’s about as valuable as giving you an NBA try out.

2010-2011 DUKE basketball expenses were $13.8 Million dollars. That is a lot of money to spend on a handful of players.

STFU. How much money has the NCAA made off these student athletes?
