Despite the current pandemic, Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, South Dakota will host to a big race on Saturday. The state's governor is not happy about the dirt track's decision...

Gov. Kristi Noem said in her press conference Tuesday, "I'm going to strongly recommend to the people of South Dakota that they not go and that they stay home."

She added, "We're asking that they be wise and smart to continue on the path and plan we’ve laid out for South Dakota for several more weeks."

Of course, Noem has been widely panned for NOT issuing a mandatory stay-at-home order for the state ... this despite South Dakota having over 1,700 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

As for Adamson, he claims spectators will be fine at the event ... adding, "We intend to go overboard on following CDC guidelines."

Let the individual decide. If they believe it’s safe to go, great. If they don’t, stay home. It’s really pretty simple.

Noem has been rather reasonable throughout the virus scare. I believe the abuse she is currently taking in the media may be causing her to side against the racetrack.

Lol. “Park Jefferson International Speedway”. I have been there it’s a little podunk dirt track. One time when we went there a crash in one of the turns flew over the bank about 50 feet from us while we were walking in. No safety fence back then. Lots of beer drank at that track long ago.

I like it. We have to make adjustments and work on opening up. The stands shouldnt be an issue, but have to social distance when entering and at concession stands too, which shouldnt be hard for 700 people.
