As you know, Thursday night was the final home game of Derek Jeter's career. It was a night Yankees fans won't forget, especially this ball boy. Who in the bottom of the fifth when Jeter hit a foul ball down the left field line, was smart enough to pull the old switcheroo after catching it and before tossing it to a fan. Yea, that's gonna be a nice collector's item...

Your right Thracken. I personally think that he should have given Jeter's foul ball to one of the young kids in that area instead of pulling one out of his back pocket. If he was instructed to do so by Yankee management (hold on to Jeter's foul ball), then I understand his actions. Just my opinion. Doesn't mean I am right, or wrong.

Earl - there is nowhere it is written that anyone at the games would receive anything at all - the fact that the kid got a ball from Yankee stadium is more than anyone else received. the ball boy is not obligated to toss a fan a foul ball period.

Crummy move by the ball boy in my opinion. Those fans are paying good money to go to the game and don't deserve to be treated like that. I would think if that kid wanted a game ball, The Yankees would give him one since he gets the chance to interact with the players and coaches.
