Couldn’t have said it better myself and it shouldn’t even be mentioned as some competition between them. That’s just absolutely absurd. Pete was so so so much better than most in the men’s game much less Women’s. Please!

For anyone who wants to compare their accomplishments - if both were in their prime who do you want on your team first? It’s like the “controversy” the tennis player raised by saying the Williams chick would be the #300 men’s player. It’s apples and oranges for a variety of reasons. Clark’s accomplishment is amazing on its own. Why degrade it?

Probably not what the media was looking for but that's the right way to see this!

And that is exactly the way it should be looked at.

I've heard interviews with Clark before-- I bet she sees it similar to Mulkey. This is obviously a media thing. I don't think Clark requires an absurdly illogical comparison for legitimacy at this point. I can't imagine why the media thinks she does...

Same old stupid media attempt to invoke Girl Power! Why can’t people just celebrate women’s’ sports for the enjoyment and competition it brings? Trying to establish her as equal to Pete on an ‘Absolute’ basis is as insane as suggesting Serena could compete with Novak! God made us different, so enjoy the benefits offered by both and stop trying to force the square peg into a round hole and saying it fits!

Funny how the media tries to get her in awkward situations and she shines through with a brilliant answer.

They did the same thing with the Babe Ruth record. If Babe Ruth had not been a pitcher the first 6 years of his career, he would have played every game instead of every 4th game.

It is so sad how hard the media works to divide people.

If Clark wants to really impress, calculate her career stat sheet up and show me an over 40ppg avg(over 50ppg w/3 pointers). At that point I’ll be impressed. And I played basketball in school until my sophomore year and averaged a little under 4ppg so I know what I’m talking about.

She’s awesome. They use Pistol’s record as a benchmark. There are zero who directly compare the two. Personally, I like that I hear Pistol talked about. There is absolutely zero to be insecure about and it’s all positive.

That was a very polite and roundabout way to say “women’s and men’s records are completely separate”

?Maravich played in 83 games before the shot clock and 3-point line. Clark played in 129 games in 4 years with a 3-point line that accounted for 500 points and a shot clock. Comparing these two athletes is a meaningless exercise from a statistical perspective. ?

If Clark went one on one with The Pistol...

She wouldn't because she knows better.

Maybe Clark can come out and say the same thing. She is a great WOMENS player. But, Pete Marovich was a Great Basketball player. She is doing this with four years of playing, shot clock and a three point line. Let’s concentrate on the positives of both records instead of trying to make it about a woman doing something a man accomplished.
