February 13, 20090 Comments
At a press conference yesterday, Les Miles announced the hiring of Don Yanowsky, who will coach the tight ends and will serve as the recruiting coordinator for the Tigers.
He comes to LSU with over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience on both sides of the football as well as that of recruiting coordinator.
Yanowsky replaces Josh Henson, who left LSU to become co-offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Missouri. Yanowsky becomes the fourth new assistant coach to join the program this offseason. John Chavis (DC), Brick Haley (DLs) and Ron Cooper (DBs) were hired last month.
In LSU Basketball news, LSUsports.net is offering fans a chance to watch a replay of LSU's thrilling 97-94 victory over Mississippi State in double overtime. Click here to watch the video for free.
LSU (20-4, 8-1) returns to action on Saturday when they face Ole Miss in the PMAC. Tip-off is at 6pm CT.
LSU point guard Bo Spencer will not play against Ole Miss. Spencer sprained his ankle in the win over Mississippi State.
Not much LSU Baseball news to report. Opening day in the new Alex Box stadium is just one week from today. The Tigers will face Villanova at 7pm CT next Friday. TD.com user "Adam4848" has been previewing the team, and breaking down each position. Click here to read his comprehensive baseball preview.
Finally, TigerDistrict.com is now selling our first TigerDroppings.com T-shirt. You can click here to purchase the shirt. The shirt costs $10. Buy as many items as you would like and just pay a flat rate of $6 for shipping.
That's all for today. Have a good weekend.
