Per LSUSports.net: Eugene, Oregon – Dennis Shaver's top ranked LSU men's track and field team scored 84 points en route to securing the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Title on Friday evening at Hayward Field. LSU won five individual event titles and the 4x100 meter relay at the meet as the Tigers showed their brute dominance over the rest of the field.

"It means a lot because there have been so many times we've been second at this meet," Shaver said after the victory. "To be able to win it is pretty exciting. We came out here and dominated the meet in a lot of ways and that made it special for us."

LSU's six event titles at the NCAA outdoor meet are the second most ever in meet history. Ohio State captured seven in 1936. LSU won event titles in the javelin (Tzuriel Pedigo), 100 meters (Terrance Laird), high jump (JuVaughn Harrison), long jump (JuVaughn Harrison), 400 meter hurdles (Sean 'Squirrel' Burrell), and the 4x100 meter relay.
