Zach Mettenberger 'Fight To The Death' For Job Vs. Marcus Mariota
Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports
Titans QB and former Tiger, Zach Mettenberger, isn't ready to just hand over the starting quarterback position to Tennessee's first round draft pick Marcus Mariota. Even after head coach Ken Whisenhunt has said that his intent is to start Mariota over him, Mettenberger says he will "Fight to the death." Here's what he texted to ESPN's Adam Caplan...
quote:

"I don't [know] what the mind-set is, but at the end of the day I can just control what I do and I'm extremely confident in myself, almost to a fault,” “But people who know me know I'm not going down without a fight to the death."
Go get'em, buddy.

best of luck. He is a great passer but very slow. The kid has great speed and that may be the difference.

I still don't understand the draft pick. They must have seen something no one else could. The offers they were getting for that pick were absolutely insane.

RIP there buddy...
Mett is definitely the better passer but you don't sit a 2nd overall pick if you're Ken, that's career suicide.

He hasn't even played a game in the NFL honestly truly we have no clue which one is going to be better we'll see a lot come the preseason though

He can run, that's it in what he has over Mett. Mariotta will struggle in the nfl. NO way in belonged better than Mett at NFL passing and reading d's

I love this by Mettenberger I hope him and Mariota push each other and at the end of the day may the best man win.
