NFL.com writer Mike Huguenin came up with a list of 10 schools that have had success at the running back position "based on a 15-year history of their NFL draft picks at the position and factoring in the overall quality of the group."

LSU came in at No. 5 on the list and was the 3rd highest team from the SEC behind Auburn (No.3) and Alabama (No.4). Miami was No.1 on the list followed by California.
quote:

5. LSU
First-round picks past 15 years: 1
Top three rounds: 4
Total drafted: 12

The skinny: LSU has had the most running backs drafted in the past 15 years, but the lone first-rounder, Joseph Addai, also is the only one who became a star. Half of the 12 were drafted in the fifth round or later, including four sixth-rounders. Third-rounder Stevan Ridley has been solid, and second-rounder Jeremy Hill looks to have a nice upside. It definitely has been quantity over quality, though.
You can see the complete list here.

"Who care who is "DBU" or "RBU", etc. It sounds like something I would've argued about when I was 6"

I completely agree. This is getting so out of hand and it's childish. I don't care what you label us, or even worse, what we label ourselves. Just recruit well at all positions and win games.

So Jeremy Hill has upside? But Ingram is solid? Wtf? Hill did more in 1 year than Ingram has done in his career.

Quantity over quality? More like extreme value vs overpaid busts

Joke article but I'm certain this 15 year window used to compile said list excludes some being named.

Domanick Davis was a freaking beast when he played for Houston and would have killed it in the NFL had he not been injured early.

Ridley was also successful with the Pats and will be a starter with Jets. Addai has 2 thousand yard seasons and was a super bowl winner. Jeremy Hill finished his rookie season with over 1100 yards at 5 ypc and 9 TDs.

"second-rounder Jeremy Hill looks to have a nice upside."

Nice upside?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but want he the best rookie running back in the league last year? And like a top-10 at least?

Why do people get angry over random, subjective lists?
