They needed to find a way to play without him. Having a star player go down can absolutely help a defense if you have players behind that guy who are dogs and we just so happen to have them. Weeks needs to be the leader of this defense anyway. Hes just got the IT factor. Perkins was such a big star you just let that guy roam around and create havoc like they did the first year. You don’t plug him into one spot. You say go get the football and let the guys behind you work. But it can take an offensive structure out of sorts when they have no one to key on like Perkins. They don’t know who to key on now.
