So if you spent your entire career about this opportunity, bring in some good recruits and bring in some championships and coach these qb's where they need to be

I agree Steve is a leader but Does he have enough warriors to lead thru the SEC? Here is hoping to that high powered Offense we haven’t seen since Odell and Jarvis were last here

If he is as good as his tie looks we're going to beat Bama THIS YEAR

If it's his "dream job", why did he not want the job only 1 year earlier?? Something's not adding up.

He’s so emotional because he didnt expect to land the gig. He feels he won the lottery because he isnt the best LSU couldve hired. Got my Indy bowl tix on lock down

Ask yourself this...”would any high school in Louisiana hire Coach E as their head coach?” Probably so, but would he be successful? Probably not.at this point, why not bring in JT Curtis and Jay Roth. It’s pathetic and embarrassing

I cant understand how Alleva and the rest of the athletic executive staff have not figured out that winning college football championships is not about how good an offensive or defensive coordinator is. Look at Saban...he goes through coordinators like underwear and he wins every year. Why? Bc he brings in big talent and talent trumps schemes. LSU will not being in big talent with a non sexy head coach and O coordinator. If anything, we will only get worse. We can have the best schemes in the country. If we can’t execure bc of mediocre talent, what does it matter. Look at all the players going into the NFL this year. Will Clapp is a mid round pick and he left? Makes sense right ?

What recruit would hear that speech and say...” I want to play for that guy!”?

I've now figured out that Coach O is not the worst public speaker on the staff.

The man has passion and grit. Bleeds purple and gold. Isn't afraid to tie out like a boss. I'll withhold further judgement until he's had a chance to prove himself. Geaux Tigers!

Exactly. We already had a “nice” coach in Les who couldn’t deliver, and I realize that niceness doesn’t necessarily equal wins. But watching his emotional acceptance I saw love and passion for the state and university that certainly CAN equal wins. If it doesn’t, we move on. But I’ll watch the experiment proudly and withold judgment until after.

He isn’t the sexy pick we wanted, but I think we need to judge him on his work next year. All this speculation and whining isn’t helping. If he succeeds, wonderful. If he doesn’t, we will clean house. With the way LSU seems to like to do things currently, we would probably elevate Aranda to HC. We are already paying him HC money.
