Once ND joins a conference I'll respect them a little more.

They generally only schedule mid to low level Power 5 teams as their "tough" games. They get zero respect until they join a conference.

i get what you're saying and don't believe that they're a top 5 team, BUT they play all D1 teams (no D1AA) and 10 are from Power 5 conferences. They play Mich, FSU, VT, Stanford, USC which are historically top 25 teams and this year have Syracuse and NW which will hover in/out of top along with Pitt & Vandy. Ball State and Wake Forest are their other opponents. Is it the hardest in the country, no. But is it weak, not by any means. And there are plenty of power 5 teams with weaker.

Notre Dame is an absolute fraud. Stanford blows and all of a sudden, Notre Dame is the best team in college football history.
