Former standout LSU offensive linemen Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca made the list of 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2017. Per NOLA.com:

Faneca was also a finalist last year, his first year of eligibility. He was a six-time All-Pro guard and nine-time Pro Bowler with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets from 1998 to 2009. He finished his 13-year career with the Arizona Cardinals in 2010. Faneca started for the Steelers in their 21-10 victory against Seattle in Super Bowl XL.

Mawae was a semifinalist the past two years. He played 16 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans. The former Leesville High School standout was an eight-time Pro Bowler and eight-time All-Pro.

what's with all the retired olinemen dwarfing into sticks and all the retired wrs and qbs becoming swollen monsters? It's like they switch. The amount they must be eating to remain that size in their playing days, wow!

Both will get in but Faneca should be a lock this year... Mawae may get in next year

If Willie Roaf gets to be in the HOF, Faneca definitely should be.

Nothing would make me happier than to see two great tigers inducted in a single class...they have represented us well on Sundays for years.

Two great Tigers, Faneca, very instrumental in the 97 beat down of #1 florida in Tiger Stadium. The crowd was electric. Best of luck to both Tigers
