KALB News in Alexandria, Louisiana recently interviewed Andrew Gretchko with Vivid Seats to get his take on the high ticket prices for the National Championship and what he expects from the LSU-Clemson crowd at the Superdome.
quote:

"LSU's first shot at the CFP championship, combined with the continuation of Clemson's historic run, has led to high demand for next Monday's matchup,” said Andrew Gretchko with Vivid Seats.

“With the game taking place right in LSU's backyard, we're expecting a home atmosphere for the Tigers,” Gretchko said. “Our Fan Forecast currently points to 62% of the Superdome cheering for LSU, leaving just 38% for the defending champs."
Kickoff between LSU and Clemson on Monday night is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.

I think the dome will be 68% LSU fans and 32% Clemson fans. Right at 2 to 1 ratio in favor of LSU. We will have around 50k and Clemson will have 24k. That's how I believe it will look Monday. LSU fans will definitely be the large majority of people there.

How does one become a ticket expert?!

If history is any indicator, well be lucky if it is 50/50...LSU fans have a history of selling their tickets to the big games.

This is what I'm saying. How can 'Ticket experts' know what tickets get bought and sold on the secondary market? I don't think the Dome will be 'dominated' by LSU fans like many believe. I would base my conclusion on what happened in 2011, the only difference is that Bama is closer than SC and their fans are/were slightly more fanatical than most, not to mention that there are quite a few Bama fans in LA. But make no mistake Clemson will be more than well represented.

Hopefully, this time around, any LSU season ticket holders will sell to other LSU fans. Bama fans will take out a 2nd mortgage or borrow against their 401K plans to buy tickets. Few, if any, other fan bases will do that.

I predict 90%+ LSU fans at about 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter.

60% of Superdome is not a "home" environment...our home environment is 90% of 103,000, but I'll take a majority!

What will it be when were up 28-0 in the second quarter?

Probably closer to 55:45 slight edge to LSU. There won't be as many Climpson fans this time as there were Gumps in 2011 but far more than most here believe.

Do you have some special information that the ticket experts don't have?

With corporate sponsors etc also getting a ton of tickets i assume that # may be even more. Majority of the companies with tickets are most likely local or giving them to their local vendors. Which will most likely be all LSU fans. Clemson will travel well but 70/30 wouldn't be too far fetched if not more.

This is similar to 03 and 07. No big surprise. I was convinced in 03 it was going to be like 90/10. I know better now.

Whatever. These ticket experts also expected the cowboys fans to dominate the Superdome earlier this year. Way off.

I don't believe that prediction. The last three times we've played the championship game in the dome, the crowds have been MUCH closer to 60-40. Clemson's fans WILL travel for this game. I don't expect a home atmosphere at all. I think it'll be loud, but it won't be like being at Tiger Stadium.

So his prediction was 62/38 and you’re not buying it because you think it’ll be closer to 60/40?

LOL, what the frick are you talking about??

I think it'll be closer to 70-30 between most LSU fans being locals and Clemson fans getting travel fatigue from making 4 national title games in 5 years.

Minimum 60-40, will probably be more like 75-25... although the Orange will definitely stand out. Can’t wait for LSU Pregame, will be insane!

Yeah, 40/38 seems a little High. But they do expect to be there every year now.

No way will it be 75-25. It didn't approach that the last three times we were in this game.
