LSU safety JaCoby Stevens, cornerback Derek Stingley, and nose tackle Tyler Shelvin were all named to the Nagurski Award watch list on Tuesday.

The Nagurski Award is presented annually to the National Defensive Player of the Year.

Former LSU star Glenn Dorsey is LSU's only Nagurski Award winner, taking home the trophy in 2007.

Stingley is set up to sweep the defensive awards this season unless he has a terrible year or they cancel it

Looks like the award started in ‘93. So our best options aside from Dorsey would have been 2006 PP7 (vs. winner Laurinatis) or 2011 TM7 (vs. winner Kuechly).

@alumni95 Devin White should have won it. He won the Butkus for best LB. Yet Josh Allen, a LB, won the Nagurski Award.
