LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger spoke on the virtual Coaches Caravan Wednesday night and answered questions about the Tigers offense this upcoming season.

Ensminger made a point to praise quarterback Myles Brennan, who will take over for Joe Burrow in 2020.

All aboard!! I for one think we can be just as good maybe slight drop off in offensive and slight uptick on Defense to offset. Myles is a 1st rounder Book it

I think Myles is going to prove lots of people wrong. We may not have Burrow type of stats but I fully believe that we will have another top 5 offense and putting up numbers like Bama, Ohio State, Oklahoma etc. but we’ll have a running game too. I think John is going to step up big time this year or that’s my hope. I hope he got a little thicker and all 3 are in better shape for this coming season. I’m not so sure that we have to worry about Chase and Marshall being double teamed because I think we will still have all the weapons we had last year just in a different way. This years team can be much more physical and use ball control while playing tough tough defense. But take our shots and move the ball at the same time. No more run run pass and the typical route trees. We coming with some multiple stuff. Guys lining up all over and creating match up issues. We have the roster to get it done again imo.

Myles can definitely make all the throws. Kid has a better arm than Burrow. It’s between the ears where I hope he learned most from Burrow

Not saying he can't, but having a better are does not shoe one in for all the throws. Touch is a factor too.

Yeah we saw both of them on long TD runs last year and the speed was evident. This 2019-2020 might be Clemson of 2012-2013 when they had Hopkins, Watkins, and Bryant, and Williams

I agree. Only problem I see is going to a 4-3 with no practice. Pelini hire is awesome, but for a first year transition corona will give us a slow start.

Here it is. If this offense produces 20% less it’s still what? A top 15 offense. If the defense is 20% better, it’s what? A top 10 defense. That’s makes a friggen bad arse team.

unfortunately this is correct. Ensminger had Burrow and most of the other pieces in 2018, and our offense was poor. We now know what Burrow can do, but look at his numbers under E's 2018 offense. Mediocre. Brady and Burrow were the reason for the '19 offense, and they're both gone. I hope for the best, but am expecting a big drop off as well. Only the blind homers think otherwise.

Not worried in the least as to whether Brennan can produce excellent numbers. He was the heir apparent after graduated and only Ohio State's idiocy allowed his position to be taken by an exceptional Burrow. He'll do just fine. I imagine that, like Burrow, he is going to be wearing a chip on his shoulder and will be out to prove folks wrong.

It was Brennan's job to lose in spring 2018, but he couldn't get it done, so that's why O went out looking for a transfer. We didn't go get Burrow until after Brennan failed in '18 spring.

I've said that Myles Brennan should break out this year and season, and I'll say it again, "Myles Brennan will break out this season!" I mean he's only been at LSU forever(4th year) - LOL. Everything they've said up above is true, he's played behind Burrow for 2 years watching a master at work. He's all the way up to 220 pounds now, well, almost 220, coming all the way up from 180 pounds as a skinny frosh. He has a stronger arm than Joe Burrow and he can make all the throws, also, his WR talent should be even stronger than what Burrow had last season. So, everything is in place for this guy to have just as good a season as Burrow offensively. Will he?? I doubt it because it's hard to duplicate the kind of success that a Joe Burrow had. But Brennan should still put up some eye popping numbers!

I just hope he has learned to throw the ball with some touch. Some Qb’s that have cannon arms don’t develop anticipation and accuracy, and having a great arm can lead to late throws and drops. He has had ample opportunity to develop. Fingers crossed! Geaux Tigers

I like having a mature 4th year jr as our qb. He's played here under one of the best, if not the best college qb of all time...nobody would have, or should have, started in front of burrow. Nobody. Thank God that urban Meyer is just that one dumbass that started Haskins over burrow and then burrow transferred. What a dumbfrick. Myles has a very strong arm, is very smart, and will be very comfortable in this offense and with the players he has around him. This is going to be very fun to watch. He's going to surprise the hell out of some people, including some of our own fans. He's very talented and now has his opportunity and is ready for it physically and mentally. Geaux tigers.
