Former LSU star and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark sent a thank you message on Twitter Sunday to Texas coach Tom Herman for not coming to LSU back in 2016.

Herman and Longhorns are 6-5 this season. I guess it's safe to say that Texas is, in fact, not back.

He just used LSU to get more money from the shorthorns. They deserve what they got in this over hyped coach.

Yeah, thought Texas was going to be good after the LSU game, has a really good quarterback; however, looks like they are going backwards and not forwards.

Although Herman deserves it - it’s probably not a wise political move as a sports media member.

Steven A. Smith, Finebaum, Cowherd, Skip, etc. have all made a very sizable living this way. It’s the new norm

Actually it's how you get awarded 5+ million dollar a year contracts as a sports announcer.

While I'm glad we are in the position we are in, I know it's going to take Herman longer than 3 years to resurrect that program. Clark knows that too. He never wanted to come to LSU anyway as said below.

The last 4 UT recruiting classes were avg 11th ranked in the nation! If O was 6-5 in year 3 folks would be calling for his head and not.......It will take longer to rebuild than 3 years! Herman is overrated and glad that he is in Austin and not BR!

Check Baylor and Rhule(sp) in year 3. That's the time it takes to judge the direction of a program. He's regressed. I know injuries but he's 3 recruiting classes in and still can't put together decent depth. They were almost full strength when we played. He should recruit better and make better gameplans.

Sorry, but Herman should be better than this now. I know he lost a lot of guys to injury, but they have been filling that team up with talent, especially defense over the past 2 years. LSU has a true freshman starting corner and mostly freshman backups in the secondary. Our best LB has only played half the year also. Look at Baylor. After all that shite, look at them in year three with WAAAAAY less talent
