John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
The Advocate is reporting that LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger will not be in charge of the offense next season and could be reassigned to a new position on the staff.

Sports Illustrated and ESPN are reporting that Ensminger will retire as an on-field coach.

Ed Orgeron will now need to hire a new offensive coordinator for the 2021 season, along with a new defensive coordinator after parting ways with Bo Pelini on Monday.

Ensminger, who played quarterback for the Tigers from 1976–1979, has been on LSU's coaching staff for the past decade. He serves as tight end coach under Les Miles & Ed Orgeron from 2010-2017 and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2018.

Say what you want about him as an OC (with some of the criticism being unfair) Coach E is a class act & a Tiger through and through

Hopefully he sticks around as an analyst. Maybe the pressure of being the OC was too much.

Agreed. He straight up said he didn't want to be OC a few years ago, and did it anyway.

good. I'm glad he's not going away.

Give O some credit. He’s not sitting around for 5 years before making changes. He built the staff before. He will do it again. Now in other news they need to get this sex scandal out in the open and be honest about it.

Yet people want him out after sitting through 12 years of Miles doing nothing to change

Honestly, this "sex" scandal shouldn't be any news. I'm not reporting a crime to lsu, I'm reporting it to actual police, and if they try to transfer it to lsu raising hell...these title IX scandals should be handled by criminal investigators, not lsu administration. I blame the "victims" for not reporting to actual police.

Hope they keep Slinger around as something on staff if not an admin position. Not the best OC in the world but he's a good coach/loyal.

If only he enjoyed college, that would be the right decision. He hated recruiting even tho he was good at it

I wish us luck finding the replacement.
